Now imagine, after hours of torturous oral surgery, learning your dentist isn't a dentist at all! Knows as much about dentistry, turns out, as @Integral does about making a hit, and admits to caring even less.

"Ahhh! Why, why would you do this to me?!" you yelp through a bloody hole which, but an hour ago, was your mouth.

Because he's a sadist, insane, or both. That's my best guess.

Every thing comes back to taste and listening history. If you make the best mix of your whole life (inspired by your special flavour) and ask a traditionally and classically trained person, an old-school electronic maker, etc to listen to it, he/she won't appreciate it. Their ears have been tuned up already. New works need fresh ears and attitudes. Of course this is true for me too. I never understand the mainstream pop or many more.
