  3. I'm sorry to be negative foster911, but if that hadn't been so badly mixed and mastered, it would be a really good track.

You could start with putting a 6dB low-pass filter at 3K and rolling off all the high end overload. Consider having the bass end louder than all the rest and discovering if there is anything in mid range worth letting through to the listener.

Honestly, way too much top end, and way too heavily maximised.

if it's only mixing and mastering.. then that's technical stuff...

if he really made a track that has some consistency.. trust me it's progress enough...

I still didn't have the will to follow the link myself tho... :bleh:

Not sure the title of your post is going to win you any friends. Just for info, this is not his own track so you can't blame foster for the lousy production. I think he posted it as some kind of example of what he likes.

It was just an example. You can do the same (post anything you want). Really a great assemblage of professional listeners here but why our productions don't reach the impeccability? I think pondering in the frame of making dance music is one of the obstacles.

Most people choose the dance genres because:
1- Creating dance music is rather easier. I mean the structures and selection of sounds.
2- Girls usually listen to dance music and less to serious music.
3- Becoming famous with dance music is much easier.
    4- They are usually template-based.

    :dunno:

Dance music is like a big joke.

I quite enjoyed this song, "Perpetuum Mobile". Has a krautrock feel that makes the mind wander. Very nice! :)

Until I'd find out why our ancestors were so deeper than us and what our descendants would think of us (a sad story but real). If we were the ancestors, music world had been f...ed up already.

Probably you'd believe that with every production, we're getting more perfect but this is not true.

Ok I can agree with that.
But a very bad one, it isn't sophisticated at all but just an example of even worse sound selection and totally uninspiring structure.
It obvious has not been thought true, and is just to simple. (lets hope the last juno's catch fire sooner or later:rofl:)

    We do.
We just have access to a thousand time more content than anytime before, hence the amazing quantity of pure crap (including yours obviously).
OTH we also keep on making progress, getting more complex every day, there are geniuses and amazing creators everywhere.

First time ever i have to agree with foster. You dont need talent and skills to creat dance (electronic) music. You just need to know how to stack up some samples. But ... yeah sorry foster there is a but ...

You need talent and skill to creat good dance (electronic) music.

trying to free the prisoned mind of people is futile, when they like the prison.
foster posted music that is not dance music, and the matrix dwellers reject it.
you know , pearls and swines.
