    Hello guys,

I have an issue when importing DX7 SysEx factory bank in FM8 (rom1a.syx to rom4b.syx). I can import every sound but the ones with periods in their names, i.e E.PIANO 1, which is the only one I really care for. I've looked up on the internet and it appears that the only solution is to find somebody with a DX7 that could rename the patch or to load it in FM7.

    I'm on Windows 10 x64

P.S : It loads fine in Sytrus (FL Studio), but it doesn't sound as good as in FM8, at all..

    Maybe somebody could help ?

    Peace !

there are a lot of patch collections already imported in the net... the work is already done.

Ok, I found a way. I opened the rom1a.syx file with Notepad++ (where the E. PIANO 1 patch was), and basically did a CTRL+F E.PIANO 1 and removed the dot. Now it loads fine in FM8.

I compared the sounds of the loaded SysEx in 3 different VST's :

    - Sytrus
    - FM8
    - FM7
    - Dexed (freebie)

The closest to the original (imho) is FM7.

    Peace
