It could be a bansuri, but it's similar to recorder flute.
Probably a triggered sample, but it can be synthesized too, no matter what synth is.

    Hey Benni,

This is a Moog Voyager (Analog synthetizer)
The preset is sound designed using substractive synthesis

You can achieve similar results with Dune 3 or The Legend from Synapse Audio
Sounds with similar characteristics can be found in the "Synth" or "Brass" section of the presets broswer

The shimmery metallic percussion that you can hear on the first note of the melody and towards the end is coming from a sample
of a bell tree or something similar like a triangle, it's playing in the session, it's not coming from the synth

To get this flutey/windy sounding synth that is gliding from a note to another you need to set your synth polyphony to "Mono" and/or "Legato"
Start by using a sawtooth on oscillator 1 with a few voices and detune them slightly
you can blend that to another simple soundwave on oscillator 2 like a sine or a square, not sure if it's necessary
Increase the attack and the release a bit
Apply a lowpass filter to the cutoff (this is the key part of this sound)
    keep the decay short

I don't hear any heavy modulations or effects going on but i think the filter envelope is setup so the cutoff close a bit to get that "whiney" sound
Maybe it's linked to velocity/keytracking, you need to play with the filter envelope "amount" to fine tune it

There are a few presets in the 'Synth" section of the preset broswer from Serum that could be a good starting point aswell if you take out the effects but in my opinion wavetable synthesis is not the way to go for this particular sound and you should stick to analog/virtual analog if you want to get 1:1 results

It's rather simple sounding, the melody is what makes it good
The synth is on and he is not triggering anything else with it

    Cheers :)
