I recently purchased a Roland 750 sampler and decide to install a HxC Floppy Drive Emulator. I followed all the instructions but cant get it to work. Is anybody here familiar with such installation willing to lend me a hand? Thank you all.

@Marcsal When you call me earlier today I told you to be patient. If you can't wait a couple of hours for people to finish what they are doing you better learn how to fix things yourself. There is a compatibility problem between Roland and the HxC. it is hardware related. In a nutshell, Roland S750 is missing the pull up resistor on the floppy line 2 & 34. Therefore, you MUST add two resistors between 2kΩ and 2,2kΩ to R11 and R16 on the HxC board. Skilled soldering is required. Bring it by tonite or tomorrow nite and i will modify it for you if you dont know what to do.

On that link that @Smoove Grooves provided there is incorrect information regarding the pins in the Roland 750 and resistors that should be used. I worked for Roland R & D for years so I know its samplers like the back of my hand, and will tell you that the correct ones are 2 and 34 instead of the 2 and 32. The resistors from 2 to 2,2kΩ instead of from 1 kΩ.
BTW, @Smoove Grooves based on the misinformation I couldn't save my breath.:rofl:Not all information on the internet is correct 100% of the time.

I do remember because am constantly repairing and modifying Roland gear for friends and double-checked with Service Manuals. When Jeff wrote those instructions the mistake went unnoticed for a couple of years until a client of a friend of mine contacted me because he couldn't get his 750 to work. I explained it to him about the pins and he went on to correct Jeff. I will ask him if he remembers the thread or I will try to find it myself.

I want to thank @Smoove Grooves and @The Pirate for their help in solving this problem. I bested a Best Answer to @The Pirate because he knew what needed to be done and performed the modification for me. I tried to do it myself and endeup messing the Sampler's circuitry. A job that would have taken him no more than 40 minutes ended up being a 5 hours surgical repair for which he refused to charge me. I have said it before, those of you that bad mouth @The Pirate don't know the good person he is. As I write this am sitting next to him at his studio while he eats some traditional Spaniard food that my grandma cooked specially for him. :mates: He doesnt even know that Im writing this but be warned: you mess with him I will :trashing:you.

Understand: I've owned the D-50 for 30 years!
So again, thank u ever so much for your input. Hardware facts are often known by the owner.

Thanks for what you said @Marcsal showing genuine gratitude goes a long way... but next time if you don't know what you are doing, especially with hardware, leave it to someone that has experience with it. Unlike software, many hardware damages caused by novice repairman are irreversible or end up costing money and time. 20 minutes, the parts-free job becomes a 5-hour ordeal with a replacement part costing hundreds of dollars. The bottom line here, be patient and leave it to the pros.
