You take an old record and sample parts of it and turn it into an entirely new tune. That's what "flipping a sample" is.

@black.afrika.zulu.x It would be nice to start up by providing as a wav. file of the sample. Just a suggestion.

Bro, I'm new here so I dont even know how half of this Forum operates. Im trying to learn how to upload files too. Maybe some of the older members know how. Can it be send by PM? Only way I can think of is by uploading to file host and providing us with link. Still I dont know if that is permitted here.

I think it originates from B-side of a record (mainly), also called the flip-side.. there is a lot of history about what was on the B-side, like a capella, instrumental, remix...

Nowadays you can think of it as a remix (without stems provided) or a bootleg which usually gives the original a totally different feel & vibe

    ..will give it a try

gave it a few listen and thought it was dope , the percussion to the drops gave me that " jay z Magna Carta Holy Grail album " vibe
overall i like it. i assume its not fully mixed yet ? on the mixing end maybe more control on the percussion dynamics and peaking frequencies other then that its a go !

I love the arrangement. Nothing I would've thought of. I first gave the original a listen and it painted a different picture on my mind. As for the mix, I hear that the low mids might need to be reworked. The bass sound is clear, but it lacks a bit of energy. You could also could have used a bit more definition on the percussion. It gets kind of obscured at times. Reworking the mid lows might solve that. In the intro, the hi hat hitting in quarter notes is too piercing. In fact, it sounds too high in in all the piece. These are the most salient issues in my speakers.

    Nice one, bro. Kudos.

Well, you have shown me two song sharing sites I didn't know about- thanks.
Might you know the best place to share mashups that might get flagged for copyright?
Are either of those good for that?
(I do know about changing tempo and pitch, but still looking for sites other than SoundCloud & MixCloud..)

    I'm not sure bruh.
I just did a search for a place to upload those clips but it seems like both are solid. You may want to check the terms of service though as far as copyright infringement and whatnot.
I think there are a few sites dedicated to mashups and djs', i just can't remember them off the top of my head.
I'm sure if you google it you can find something that suits your needs.

Trying out this new soft sampler so this isn't that good but, it is what it is. I'm still trying to get the hang of the workflow.
