Hello all I've been mostly studying music for a few years and making very little music
But now IM ready I have learned basic synthesis, sampling and mixing and also playing
In fact the only thing I haven't studied is djing...yet
Im still going to continue to study forever But now I want to start to make art....so..
I have FL Studio and Ableton...
I know there is a lot more daws but id like to pick one of these two I feel more creative in these two but can't pick one to deeply study
Im falling out of love with making beats for someone to buy and rap over I want to be the show in front and behind the music not really a rapper but a electronic musician,With hip hop, pop, dance, rock, country.A walking talking music box
Side note IM kinda leaning toward Ableton because I have a Maschine MK2 and a kick ass control script I bought a few years back from here.........

So between the two what are some pros and cons........

I use both FL and Ableton. If I was forced to pick one I would go with Ableton as of right now. Half the time I start a track in FL and finish it in Live.

in genres which needs MIDI (orchestration) heavily I would choose FL >

in mainly sample manipulation based ones > AL

if plan to use tons of automation then maybe FL is better

FL Studio as it's more stable than Ableton

This is like DAW version of 'Sophie's Choice'...
    "Please don't make me choose!!"
Like Spacely i use FL for messing and starting ideas, then use Ableton.
If i was forced to choose i would have to say Ableton as i can do more complex stuff in that...
plus of course, it's great for LIVE performance etc..

I spend most of my life using Ableton.

I couldn't get on with Fruity Loops, and if I had to keep trying? I would probably kick my computer half way down the hall!!

That doesn't mean you will feel the same. Try both out for yourself is the only sensible thing to do because no two people think or act the same. That applies also to DAW's

can find cool videos from all the DAWs (FL,AL,ProTools) it doesn't count too much

    (FL at 1:23)

choose that one(s) which u inspire u better (I've just said FL is MIDI oriented, AL can handle samples/hardware more better)

I think it really depends on your taste. I didn't really like FL's workflow Ableton was just a lot more intuitive to me. And I like the way Ableton looks more which is a plus.

I've only missed a drum/device rack from FL (easy layering/macroing) but MUX solved it

and KUDOS for the black skin, finally I can use FL again :mates:
