Are you on a Mac?

 

I am on windows this is laptop I have Dell M3800 with 512 gb ssd and 10 gb RAM (1x8gb 1x2gb).

 

There are a bunch of things I wish for in FL Studio .. Some things are missing that I was familiar with, such as ability to easily see midi note numbers. In FL's it seems there is only octave labeling on the piano roll and when looking at note properties, although the MIDI note number IS shown in the HINT PANEL.
It would just be nice to see it on the note when editing, and (even as an switchable option) on the piano roll.
Considering that there is no official standard on octave designation, and FL seems to be off by TWO OCTAVES from most VSTs and other program's I've used, MIDI note numbers would be nice.
Well, I can see this will be a long post if I let myself go...
FL is different, and that is why I like it ... sigh...

 

You can see note labels in the piano roll.
in the top left fly-out in the piano roll, scroll down to 'view' and then 'key labels'
there are some other options there also...

 

Are you getting cracks and pops with a small project or only with larger ones? Try setting the buffer size to max value and see if they go away or are reduced. If it does, you should get an audio interface. ASIO4ALL is passable, but when you start using things like Omnisphere or your project has a bunch of plugins loaded, you will get pops and crackles.

 

You have to play around with fl studio and adjust many settings to your liking out of the box The piano roll setting should labelled automatically but i guess they think it looks cleaner? Just use the fl studio manual online and read through it, you will learn alot especially since there are new options they keep on adding.

 

Sorry if I was not clear, but I mean the MIDI note NUMBER, as opposed to note letter /octave.
There is enough room on the keys (of course the numbers would disappear when zoomed out too far, just as note letters disappear).
What would be cool as well is customizable (position, size, transparency, content) popup hint bar(s).
Well, lots of things like THAT would be "cool" but way too involved to worry about for now!

you can get a floating window with all the hints and stuff which you can move around it's under
VIEW> TOOLBARS> Hint Bar..
don't know if that's any use...

 

Yes thanks - i know that one, but i was thinking of one that pops up (adjustable parameters) and moves with the mouse. It could be set any size containing whatever info you like, etc...

Its not, and probably won't be for some time. VMProtect apparently.

There is an email from IL that they will change their keys at 31/12/2018 so all legit users should download new ones.
They most likely change their protection scheme. Last time this happened was with v20 where they adopted VM protection.

 

Maybe they removed it ....... again
