FL Studio 12 Beta 5 (aka FL Studio 11.5.16 Beta 5) has been released on April 12, 2015

    Install notes:
    1. This version requires an updated FLRegkey.Reg (log-in needed).
    2. Reboot your PC before installing.
    3. ACTUALLY READ the text preceding the link.

    What's new:
    - generic FL Studio ASIO driver (*)

(*) It's a wrapper around WASAPI drivers, meant to be used by default instead of the
DirectSound driver. Asio4All probably still gives better latency. It's possible to record
    with it.

    Bugfixes:
    - Fixed freeze exporting NewStuff song
    - Patcher: fixed hidden latency labels
    - Plugin scanner: various fixes
    - Wrapper: fixed crash with two Fruity Balance instances (64bit)
    * Wrapper: fixed freeze with bridged FabFilter Pro-Q
    * Wrapper: fixed crash closing detached bridged window
    * and many more smaller issues.

    Note:
This beta WILL expire on - May 5th 2015

This beta expires 5 days after beta 4, so I guess the final release is near.

And audio recording and tempo matching are still stone age. If its ok with them, Id like ALL my audio loops to be warped to the correct tempo regardless of format?? As is the case with Bitwig, Live, Studio 1 etc..

    and..Punch recording FFS??? *no*

VST/FX etc windows/dialogs grouping? So they wont fly around creating such a mess? Unless we need a 4K monitor to keep them all open. Studio 1 does that so amazingly.

yep it would be better if the loops were auto warped insted of you having to do them one by one whats a pain,
a great way i found is use FXpansion - Guru to prevew loops befor you drop them in the playlist
it sinks / warpes 8 loops at a time,so you know what they sound like befor you start resetting the bpm in fl .
for some reason i dont like fxpansion - geist even do its-its big brother its to big on screen
and maybe because i know how to use guru,
ied like to do a vid sometime about guru as its one of the best loop and layer programs i ever found,
and i think alot of people underestimate what it can do,fl studio should even buy the rights to guru
and add it to there program as they work great togetter,

I do wish FL had time warp markers so I could stop using Ableton for that. However for straight loops, once you get the hang of the "fit to tempo" dialogue box its quite simple.

No daw can win it all.

FL cant time warp or record audio well.
Ableton has that god awful piano roll, and annoying mixer.
Pro Tools was designed for audio with midi as an afterthought addon.
Bitwig developers don't understand the meaning of beta testing, or how to fix one bug without creating 4 more.

This is why I compose in FL and record songs in Studio One.

I love FL, I bought FL, and I will be using it for the foreseeable future, but they need to stop marketing it as a DAW, because it cant recorded audio, a VIW (Virtual Instrument Workstation) would be a better term.
If VIW catches on, remember where you heard it first lmao.

If you're inquiring about Rewire, I dont believe in that pixie dust bs lmao.

I just export stems and load them into Studio One, record a vocalist, then mix and master.

To go more into details, my secret is in my FL template, I group everything into one of 4-6 busses as I'm mixing, Drums, Bass, Insts, Guitar, Samples, Vox+sfx, Every buss also has its own reverb send feeding into it.

Those busses feed into a pre-master, where I do all the mixbuss things, then to the master where I compress eq and limit.

When I go into Studio One, I usually just take the individual busses and the pre-master for reference. And the final songs I mix always come out great and get finished quickly too because because I spend less time tweaking every little fader.
Though if I come across a major problem with the track Ill break down a buss, but I rarely have to.

I was gonna upload an image of my template but AS doesnt support uploads from disk and I'm too lazy lol

the simplest way in my opinion is:

    - arming the mixer tracks u prefer
    - select render to wav files in the mixer menu
    - choose a map
    - set quality

    press start and your done

I am learning more about the software reading you guys than spending hours playing with it. Thanks a lot. Momo, thanks especially for the FXpansion Guru tip.

A question on FL Studio ASIO? Not using beta but proper v.12 I have just tried using this as opposed to ASIO4ALL and it's all over the place. Am I likely to be doing something wrong (you don't know me so let me save you some time: the answer is yes) or is there a serious problem with it?

Please let me know what you're experience has been.

    thank you

    rem

any native ASIO driver > ASIO4ALLv2 > FL Studio ASIO
as stated in the manual here

    hope that helps!
