There is a fix now, but I guess it won't be there for long. Btw. that one really works, not only seems to work after installing -> that one still works after proper testing ;)

i tried using the fix version and i still get this error. i installed 12.5.1 just fine and made music with it the other day. so right now i am only able to use projects made in 12.5. some older project files work and dont work. its hit or miss

 

as of right now i have gotten 12.5.1 to work.

so i uninstalled everything from fl studio. i did a normal uninstall making sure everything was removed. then i deleted any folders left behind from fl studio in the program files. i then did a clean install of the 12.5.1 fix that was recently uploaded on the sister site. as of right now its working with no word of a demo

 

It is not necessary and not a good advice to delete
/Data/Backup
/Data/Patches
/Data/Projects
because there are a lot of personal things in them
I think the /Artwork Folder also does not matter and can stay..
and you can/should untick the remove settings option during uninstall.
And during reinstall you can/should untick Plugin Database
and select migrate previous (settings)

 

Well i didn't delete it and it didn't work. So I deleted everything to start fresh and that's how I got it to work. I don't need any of those things anyways. Backups are useful but at that point I didn't need it. You should be able to uninstall your daw and have no issue. Otherwise you need to learn about backing your stuff up. If that's an issue for anyone then you are screwed if you computer crashes and you didn't save elsewhere lol. As for plugins I re scanned easily

 

You did not delete what? The three folders I mentioned in green? Or the 1000s of other files which I didn't mention. Let me elaborate: I completely agree, that it is very possible, that you have to delete some more files after uninstalling, there is also a hidden system folder in the data folder, maybe you did not see that one? And you may need to delete the shared/ folder which you find next to the FL 12 folder in Image line/

But it is not necessary and not a smart move to delete your plugin database, which is saved in the patches folder. And if you delete the whole data folder, you'd also erase the default projects folder (if you did not make a symlink or backed up your projects before).

You won't recommend deleting all your projects to the people here..
That is why I mentioned the three folders in green above.

 

whats wrong with the plugin database being deleted? cant i just rescan since the .dll is in another folder? thats what i did. also you are right dont delete those other folders unless backed up. i saved a backup just incase, but i didnt need to. someone else may have a reason to not lose them though

 

Many users have put their favorite plugins in the Plugin Database, so that they appear also in the Plugin Picker & Plugin List menus. Since the Plugin Database is a standard folder on the disk, you can organize and or create/delete categories by using a file manager (explorer). I think the option to use categories came with FL 12.

For example if you have sorted the waves plugins by category (mono, stereo, compressor, eq, delay, reverb, imaging, visual...) this process will take at least a whole hour.

If you delete the patches folder, all that work would be deleted with it.
And if you don't know that you'll go
That is why it cannot be said often and LOUD enough

s the following ... here also has this problem and I realized that happens with old projects. What did I do? Block all the .exe from the fl plus the updater that is in the 64-bit program files folder. Except that I have a folder with all the files of version 12.5.1. After installation I replaced these folders which are SYSTEM and PLUGINS and circled a log file that came inside it. And it's working normal. These folders I got on NET. If I did not do this then I could not open old projects.
