Firefox is supposed to be offering a 64-bit version of their browser from version 37 but where is it? How does one go about downloading it?

The only thing Google came up with so far is 38.0 Alpha for Win64
    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora-l10n/firefox-38.0a2.ach.win64.zip
    :dunno:

Guess we have to wait for a little longer (BTW, Waterfox is still great option) *yes*

I had no idea there was a x64 version for version 37. I'll have to look into that. As Andrew said, Waterfox is a great option. It's what I've been using for a few months now. Still gonna look into Firefox's x64 version though. If I can find it, that is haha. If I manage to find it before you or someone else does, I'll be sure to report back here with a link.

Edit: Looks like it's not in the current build. I saw someone say that it's going to be released in version 38. Don't know if that's true. Guess we'll find out in time.

I've been using x64 Firefox [it's called Iceweasel] for almost two years now and it works very stably. In Debian Linux. It's at v31.5.3 as they always use ESR versions. That is a big plus in my book and that's why I never have any problems with "Firefox". If you want more stable Firefox use the ESR version, folks. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/  The mainstream version always gave me headaches in Windows, since v11 or thereabouts. Too many bugs slips by into the normal version.

The Mozilla team has never really pushed the development of Firefox for x64 on Windows for some reason. Actually the last I heard is they stopped the x64 development for Windows altogether. I'm glad that this doesn't seem to be true. It would be rather insane, don't you think? It's already insane that x64 for Windows is still in beta! Come on Mozilla! :snuffy:

However, if you want x64 Firefox in Windows right now, listen to what gamma says. Palemoon is great and the best browser solution for Windows IMO! I would call it an alternative to Debian's Iceweasel [Firefox ESR] for Windows. Lots of people swear by it and the Palemoon guys seem cool.

    Cheers :mates:!

Waterfox is kinda the x64-Firefox till they release if with the Firefox name right? It's built from the official Mozilla repo's I think.

Exactly, WF is also built with various SSE optimizations in mind.
For me it's x64 Firefox on LUbuntu  but to be honest - no significant performance increase compared to x86 *yes*

i have FF 40 here x86 is enough, i hardly reach more than 1.5GB of RAM used and then i have like 30-40 tabs open.
x64 is only needed when you go over 4GB RAM.
