You are lucky! I cannot endure deep bass sounds, makes me nauseous. Therefore my "quality" subwoofer was almost never used and is now turned off permanently. :/

 

Sometimes you should go to the ear doctor and do a hearing test.
It then determines which frequencies can no longer be heard. Hearing aid maybe? Use EQ?

People usually go overboard with the sub. Calibrating a sub can be hard, less is more imo, add just enough to feel it.

 

No offend taken @Anubhav Ukil .... I agree it looks Iike I was pissed off.

It´s more like I wasn´t into a lot of details regarding how subs can be build - that´s all.

Thanks @Tele_Vision ..... there´s been a little quiet here regarding the new sub for the last week... house decorating and stuff that was needed but on monday I´ll start doing some serious testing and treatment of my tiny studio.

good luck not re-mixing lots of tunes from before you had a sub! don't forget to try out any old neglected synths, you might find a pleasant surprise or two.

I use the Genelec 7360 10inch and really won't even bother mixing bass without it anymore, or I just spend way too much time fixing stuff later. But I would not discourage anyone from even buying a budget sub, rather than producing bass music without one.
