    Hello!
I'm wondering if anybody knows about a VST FX Filter that can work like the filters in Serato Sample for example. I mean, a VST Filter with a knob that can be assigned to any of the controllers knobs o faders, with a FX like Serato has inside. A kind of cutoff, or like what the DJ's have in their mixers to kill frecuencies..
I hope you can understand my xtrange explanation lol
Thanks in advance and best regards!

for knob control filter any plugin that allows you to connect knobs to midi cc . then record your automation

what you're probably looking for is an Lfo filter = a moving filter either sync or manual
    to name a few
    the drop

Hi, thanks, I think what I'm looking for is a VST that can act as a knob to cut frecuencies, that's why I mentioned the filter knob in Serato Sample knob.jpg

Problem with serato is that the this filter just act for each slice and not for the whole sample

:woot: To cut freqs you need a filter, not a knob. And YFManagement explained to you how to control this filter with a knob,

Yes, of course I understand..I've tried with Vulcano 2 and seems to be what I'm needing..but I can't make the knowbs of my controller to work w
ith the VST. I've tried the Midi Learn in Vulcano but with no luck..I don'tt know what I'm doing wrong, I'll try with Nanopad to see if answers to the Pad
Also I'll try with The drop. Thanks!

I may be completely off, but just in case.. The filters on DJ HW/SW are (usually) one knob things that act like "all-pass", when it's in the middle (like on the pic), low pass to the left and high pass to the right. And there is also some (crossover, reso,..?) magic going on, that is proprietary to pioneer, ni, serato etc. Just a note - it can be tricky to achieve the effect, without mapping at least 2 parameters

Edit: Volcano seems like a good candidate..

Mornin' people. Thanks a lot for all the answers. Well I've tried Fat and Crative Filter and both of them are more or less what I'm looking for, but I think @Matt777 is right, seems that needs two knobs to do the job. Anyway...I've a new problem now, how could I make the knobs ( or the mod wheel) of my controller to control the big knob in any of the VST's. I'm running Cubase 5 with a generic midi keyboard with several knobs and also I've got a Nanopad . I've tried the Midi learn from Cubase clicking the VST but nothing happens. Anybody can help with this? thanks in advance!

@Noprays I would use quick controls in Cubase, but i´m not sure if the version 5 has them

With FAT Filter, you have to assign the knob on your controller to the cutoff knob in the VST, and you have to use 2 FAT Filters, one HPF and one LPF, to get the BPF if you're looking for that. Just load both in series and assign cutoff in both to a knob on your MIDI controller. One will control HPF cutoff, and the other will control LPF cutoff. Simple and effective. It's a nice VST filter.

Audio Assault's FilterCrusher can have both working simultaneously.

Great! thanks a lot!! solved, assigned 2 Fat Filters to 2 knobs and moved them, one clockwise and the other inversed..and gotcha! Almost same effect as the Serato Filter. WIll prove the other ones to see if are better but I did what I was looking for, Thanks to everybody involved!!

Of course I'm right! Like always.. Jokes aside, do yourself a favour and check out the free Xfer DJMFilter. It (suposedly) emulates the DJM 800 filter, acts like one - it switches from HP to LP seamlessly and has filter OFF, when pointing up. Also, you only need one knob to control it.

I see the nice guys upstairs already got you going with midi assignment. I wouldn't have a clue of how it's done in Cubase (unless it'd be on Atari..;). it's on splice for free and here it's how it works:
