Fender Hotrod Deluxe Faceplate replacement

Discussion in 'Soundgear' started by Vincent Price, May 25, 2024.

  1. Hello

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get a replacement silver faceplate for my Hotrod Deluxe?

It is a silver face, I think 2005 and Mexican made

Over the years the text on the faceplate has started to come off and it being silver this has made it difficult for me to see what's left of the writing

    Thank you

    how about this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166448333856

Is that the correct part? That link is for the overlay. It mentions being for the Mexico produced version. It looks like that user is probably making them.

Right. The best answer is to find overlay makers.
Result will be "brand new" and cheaper than an original part looking "like new" ... and so being over priced.

You can even ask the usual sellers to make a custom one for you.

  6. Yeah I did see that one

if you have a color laser printer and can use adobe photoshop, its fairly easy to do. load the old image in a layer, create a new layer in front, and use the original as a template to create the copy. print on clear adhesive laser sheets, or even just clear overhead projector overlays and use spray adhesive like 3m 74 foam fast. Add a clear coat over the laser print to keep it from wearing off too soon...

if you can create the artwork in adobe, a print shop can print it for you if you don't have a laser printer..
