Fender production in Ensenada temporarily suspended due to fire
According to a report by local news magazine Ensenada.net, the fire at Fender's Ensenada plant broke out in the early morning of February 16, 2022 at 6:30 a.m. local time. Flames several meters high were observed coming from the company's warehouse. The manufacturer found a number of material damages of the productions.

i was afraid it was the real fender factory, ill never consider mexican prodcution entitled of the brand, no matter what the headstock says

Hopefully the contracts about the Studio One team were burned too so it can move on to another company...

one worker was installing fender studio one in a computer with 2 vsti .... and . . . ouch . . .

 

I've played (not owned though) a few Mexican Strats and a Tele that were pretty good players and I was kinda surprised.

 

I think this is not what Jimi Hendrix wanted...

 

So I may have been wrong about Presonus' employees having to move to Mexico after their acquisition by Fender. They were already one step ahead. Next stop, Pakistan.

 

I guess somebody got so sick of all the incredibly ugly guitars they've been turning out in recent times that they decided to end the suffering.

About 15 years ago I bought a Strat copy that had been in a fire for 20 bucks. The pick guard was all warped and funky and the knobs were mushy looking. I cleaned it up changing the guard and replaced the knobs...and it then both smelled and sounded like shite.

 

Insurance jobby due to company losses or the other protection racket.

Hello @ALEK23, I understand you quite well and sometimes it is also true what you say. But for Fender a fire means loss of production and expensive repairs. Fender is doing well financially and insurance fraud, if true, would shake the confidence of customers massively.

 

Sucks to be you. Their MIM lineup is solid as hell, and I live 30 minutes from the 'Custom Shop' in Corona heh. Maybe you should actually try one instead of being a bigot?
