Hi there, hope everyone is doing well.
Long story short: these two songs are remakes I have just finished. The songs are from 2000, but they were not very well recorded/mixed (to say the least). Decided to join with my collab (he is in the vocals - we stopped playing live in 2020 because of the pandemic) and make these remakes cause I really like these songs. The "but" part is that after playing in this duo for so long, I no longer enjoy playing live or producing our songs, and I really do not know if it is worth the effort anymore, even if I like the songs. Anyway, hope you enjoy (even if I decide to become 100% bedroom musician from now on).

More two from the same remake sessions in 2023. The songs were originally released in 2008 and 2004.

 

They all sound to me a bit dated but still good. I particularly enjoyed the last, 4th song as to me it has texture from the guitar that drives the song.

 

Hello @jennyblack, Ufo as the second piece from the first video has the potential to become a catchy tune or a hit.
You should take care of the guitar, everything is professional quality but the sound doesn't sound good, there is room for improvement, the singing is also really good and clear, not much spoken singing and lots of emotion with a magical rhythm, but it could definitely be better. The bass is OK!

 

I feel you: as I stated, these songs are from 2000 - 2008. I decided to re-record them cuz at the time we had very poor quality equipment (the originals were recorded more like demo tapes in a Tascam portable, and the last two, already digitally). But I did not try to modernize them much (I tried to keep the main "vibe" from the originals). Thanks for the feedback!

yo if youre not feeling it anymore i strongly suggest you not pursue this further, you could potentially put yourself in a nightmare if these end up taking off and you definitely need a love, passion and drive to deal with this industry - success is nice feeling sometimes; but its not enough and can turn into an endless thing youre trying to chase when being successful becomes the reason. dont potentially put yourself in a situation youll want to get out of. trust that youre over it and move on musically, theres nothing wrong with that

at least you have these songs now in better quality, its okay if thats enough

 

Thanks! Yes, I have come to terms with the fact that this project/collab has come to an end in terms being fun and enjoyable (I am having much more fun making my experiments with synths and playing a little guitar at home, and recording/producing my solo projects when eventually I get inspired).
