I haven't use any compressor nor limiter to not change the dynamics, if i want more sound, i just turn up the volume but let me know if you think i'm wrong.

Thanks to all for any help.

Wow, I love them! I'm a sucker for relaxing music with choirs. I can't get enough of choirs :)
Other than a few small parts where i seem to hear kind of an "excessive pitch-shift" effect applied I'm loving them.
    Sweet, congrats

Thanks a lot for your feedback Xupito.

I haven't used pitch-shift, anyway not in theses tracks, but i had a hard time for EQing choirs and eliminate unwanted frequency, specially on 12-18khz range for high notes, maybe on some it can sound unatural. Some of them sounded unatural for me even without EQ but it's hard to find library that can go that high.
Le Chant Des Ames has about 30 tracks of choirs so maybe there's still some frequency to adjust.

Anyway, i'm glad you like them.

Of course, i use Dominus Choir / Storm Choir Ultimate / ARVA / Freyja / Wotan / Balkan Ethnic (fantastic one) / Jade Ethnic / Choir from Metropolis ARK 1 and some Omnisphere Patch all in the same song
Maybe i have forget one or two but thoses are the most used.

Plus some brass from Spitfire & Orchestral Tools and some UVI sound too...

There's about 50 tracks total which use nearly all my CPU and memory :snuffy:

    Trust your instincts

It sounds fine to me. My only advice would be to add a bit more reverb to all the instruments for a bit more immersion and realism.
May be more of a taste thing though

Hello, how are you? Thanks for sharing with us what you do.

Well I like the way it sounds, I don't think it needs compression, eq, for me, it can be appreciated. But, there are some instruments that don't sound so real, and I think it could sound 50% better if you put more real sound libraries. Because for me, the more realism this kind of music has, the more it reaches you, because of its warmth, the sweetness of the orchestral instruments. So that would be my objective answer, focus on giving it more realism, I know you do it for yourself, but it would also be beautiful, to hear one's works with more realism. Greetings!

    Hello Ryck.

Thanks for listening and for your feedback.
Can you please tell me some instruments that don't sound so real for you?

Yes, of course. Well in the first song "Le Chant De La Terre" the main instrument, I think it's an Oboe? maybe?. Well, it's like it's played key by key, ta..ta..ta...ta...I mean? I don't hear a glide like a real wind instrument would, something like a "legato". Then there are some background choruses that at times sound real and at other times sound synthesized. This is common in some libraries, some notes sound "original" and others sound synthesized, it is possible that not all samples have been sampled. In min 5.52 where the chorus is the loudest, if I were you, I would put more reverb, so it sounds more impactful, you know what I mean ...something like "woooow" and you feel that they are singing next to you and it makes you shit your pants. With a wider reverb you would get that feeling and also realism.

In "Le Point D'Inaccessibilité Part 2 (2022)". Again the Oboe, it doesn't feel real at all. And also those high-pitched choruses that come in later, they don't sound real, not when they go too high.

That violin that comes in at min 2.30 does feel real, it feels like it's really crying.

In "Le Chant Des Âmes". Also the same, the choirs, some parts sound real and others like synthesized. As I said before, it's possible that this library is not all sampled.

So in my opinion, I would look for a more realistic OBoe, or work on the "Legato" to give it more realism, and with the backing vocals, you can look for another library or complement it with another one. And I also think that if you put a deeper reverb, it will feel more real.

Well, this is my humble opinion, I hope it helps you. Best regards!

Thanks a lot for your detailed reply.
I totally agree about the Oboe, it sound less realistic. I'll try to change for one with a legato. I've tried some others but found this one has one of the best tonality so i've used it even without legato but i have to test some more.
I'll try more reverb on some choirs too.

For the unrealistic choirs it's more difficult, as you said on a lot of them some notes sound less realistic than other, maybe i'll try different library for different notes. I find really hard to find choirs that sound really good on high notes even on the most know library. There's always a lot of frequency to cut to avoid strange resonance and that probably add to the "synthesizer" sound.

Thanks a lot for your time, that's really valuable feedback for me.

Are you using a subtractive/reductive EQ instance in this situation, or have you tried any other Resonance Suppression focused fixes? Depending on the specific frequency content, the situation you describe is normally where Fabfilter Pro-DS gets instantiated for me.

    It is very nice work.

    Hello clone.

I mostly use Pro Q3 and sometimes Soothe (very rarely, not really fan of it). I find Pro Q3 the most useful in most situation.
I'll try Pro-DS, thanks for the advice and your feedback.
