A short-dumb related story:

I've been downloading torrents and setting up seedboxes for years (for private use of course). and the only time I got caught was that time i stupidly downloaded a Tomb Raider styled porn instead of the real thing which supposed to be a game repack.

Luckily enough I was using a anonymized VPS. but it was located in US so they did track me and sending a complaint in behalf of the mighty "Brazzers" and charging $250 and calling me to a US court.

In fact they didn't care about the actual downloaded file. what they didn't like was my server seeding 3 more copies that day.
Anyway, that server was a test/trial and I destroyed it without leaving a trace. I learned my lesson and bought dedicated servers in NL+FR.
