I got Claro for about 10 bucks so I am using that. It has similar features. I really like the "Produce" mode of Claro. It has all the Pro-Q3 styled features on the Tweak page, Sonible/Relay style Mix page, and Produce is completely simple but you can do a lot very quickly. High cuts, low cuts, etc.

This plugin looks quite interesting, it's based on the Manley Voxbox and has all the features plus more. It could be a proper alternative to the UAD version. The sad part is it's poorly coded and has too many problems (aliasing, EQ cramping, wet/dry imbalance), so can't properly judge it :

I often use Cakewalk's VX-64 as one of the main components in the chain. It has almost everything I usually need.

I might catch some flak but Slate vmr would be favorite if I had to choose 1.

I think Slate VMR is okay, but the R2R version has 1176s problems.

I concur, this one is pretty underrated given its quality and ease of use

Yup i had to do a fresh install from time to time when i forget to activate my firewall while using it but nothing really annoying. I plan on buying it

The autoleveler works with iZotope's usual analyzer and I wouldn't use it in a long vocal take, but it's fine for shorter chunks. It levels with no apparent artifacts some inconsistencies that would get overworked with a compressor and would be slow to process with gain automation. While Ozone/Neutron auto-analysis don't usually work that well, I found that Nectar tends to be much less invasive and does suggest some nice EQ curves for cleaning the vocals and some de-essing + compression that are fine as a first step. I'll test some other plugins, but I think I'll keep using Nectar when I just want to work fast and prevent myself from endless tweaking

StVX64 is from Cakewalk, and it is a DXi format plugin.. it is quite an old plugin.. been forever with Cakewalk.. i did use DXi to VST wrapper so i can load it into other DAW.. but i cant remember what the wrapper name and cant remember which version of Cakewalk i took it from.. but it is a 64bit DXi plugin.. if you need it, just PM me, i can share it with u the file.

Hahaha im not a famous person, just an old small timer recordist and mixing engineer from Malaysia :)

Isn't this the one that stacks aliasing between each stage? I think you said it had "promise", but right now somehow manages to create more aliasing in one plugin by combinatorially adding them then we have seen in years?

I am using "eFX Vocal Strip" that came with my Magix Samplitude Music Studio 2013. The vocal strip itself is quite good to my mind.

I randomly searched at the sister's site and found there's an old post of this plugin. It's 32bit though. I tried to run it at 2x Reaper oversampling but it's not working correctly. It wont run at sample rate higher than 48kHz, it still process audio but accuracy of the control all wrong at wrong sample rate. Manage to play with it a bit and wonder why modern days developer can't think like this, this plugin was designed brilliantly. UI & Workflow are both top notch.

You own the hardware ? or you meant the UAD version ? If it's the plugin have you ever compare it to the Kazrog or AA Amber. I really like Amber EQ and only use that one highest band for vocal.

Just found out that Nectar has separate standalone Auto Leveler module now. I think starting from version 4, Nectar now has separate modules as plugin like Ozone and Neutron. I totally missed this one. I've played with it for two days and really like it. Added to my template right away. Good stuff.

Yeah, I thought it has some potential if the developer decide to fix all the problems and maybe add few features such as modules routing/order. I really like the idea of the harmonic and the reverb section. It's different. Also I'm curious to see if they manage to emulate the Manley's ELOP compressor accurately. Manley Voxbox (the hardware) is a flagship product of Manley, all their best tech and design are in that box. Really hope to see a plugin version of it that's not UAD.

I never used Samplitude, so will never know. :(
It should be mandatory for DAW to have good vocal strip for quick result.

Their site shows it is part of Boutique Suite. It is Windows only, and only for Sonar apparently.

Right??? i have using it since early days of cakewalk.. use to it.. i think the same too, the UI, strip and all function are well designed.. love it.. but too bad it stuck outdated..

32bit only?? hmmm why mine is 64bit.. maybe i jbridge it somehow.. i really cant remember, had it for so long since im used to it since cakewalk before transition to other DAW. but i still love the result time to time, soundwise.

I dont have the uad (im not in UAD eco system) nor the avalon 737sp hw personally, but there is studio that own one and i love using it for vocal during tracking. I have the kazrog, but kazrog is 747sp, not 737.. but i use the kazrog 747 compressor for vocal, love the result, between la2a, i prefer avalon more when it comes to vocal... avalon or dbx 160 or la2a....
