If you mix with Vocalstrips plugin, what is your fav ? a single all-in-one vocal strip plugin, or modular style. Does it have everything you need ?

*this is NOT a vocal chain discussion, just Vocalstrips plugin.

tough one. i haven't tried many vocal strips yet, but i usually use pitch correction in my voice so most strips are not enough.
maybe the izotope one should be enough. if not for that than the slate is one might be nice too

I've been using CLA Vocals to achieve quick and easy results for years now. Too lazy to try alternatives.

Lazy mode:, Xvox and Antares, sometime vocalstrip.

Working mode: Modular chains depends on the source

Uh, for dealing with recorded vocals, just a normal channel strip (I like the Focusrite from PA). For FX and fucking about, Guitar Rig.

Most "vocal strips" i have used have always needed a few more things. Or you have a better processor than the AIO's feature.

Modern Metal Songwriter Gamma Vocal Suite. https://www.modernmetalsongwriter.com/products/gamma

This thing is loaded with features, but I haven't any vocals I wanted to test it with. Maybe there is a PC version on Sister Site, but there is one for Mac.

It's when you sing and take your clothes off at the same time, but it's quite tricky to do both simultaneously.

Lately I've been using Izotope's Nectar for fixing some awfully recorded vocals and it works better than I expected. I would't use it if I needed some colour in the sound and some modules are just weird, but the auto-leveler saves a lot of time and you can easily cover all the basics. I've used it as the first part of an effects chain, for getting the vocals ready for the mix before finishing them with some saturation, some convolution reverb and a final touch of compression and clipping.

Before that I used a chain with fabfilter DS + EQ and the brainworx 9099, the wide EQ curves are great for brightening the vocals and I like the combination compresor+limiter

I'd want to test the strip by Noiseash, it has some neat features, but their plugins tend to be hit-or-miss to me

My favorite vocal strip is Vocal King by JHudStudio.

No. But I'm not a fan of vocal strip with effects...

JST Howard Benson Vocals. Now, this is my favourite because it's about the only vocal strip i've actually used for more than a few minutes, so not a lot to compare to. Regardless, i really like what it does, specially on the spatial side of things, that's mainly what i use it for if ever.

a channelstrip plugin but for vocal, idk maybe spelling error or something earlier, I tried to make this wont turn out into vocal chain discussion

Didn't manage to fully try the Xvox, the one at the sis site isn't really working with timebomb and all. Still waiting for a proper one. Never tried Speachy tho, will see what it is about.

After a long time, I did experiment with this few days ago, I like most of the modules especially the preamp, tape sat, all those harmonic modules. I didn't quite like the EQ and Comp tho. The reverb and delay modules are decent IMO.

oh, you do pitch stuff with vocalstrips hmm interesting. In that case I think only Nectar has that feature ? that plus the Vocal Synth, can get all sort of funking vox fx.

Me too, this is my go to for a really long time. It works, and it's easy to make everything sound familiar like the record I like, dunno what about it, but it just work.

Antares, ahh, didn't know they have one, need to check it out. I tried the Vocal EQ sometimes, but it always made me overdo the vocal so stopped using it.

oh, so you rather use the normal channel strip for vocal. okay

I haven't had a time to try this one, I looked at it and it seems like full of features, quite a lot. Will see if the modules are good.

auto leveler ? okay, need to check Nectar now. I kinda like the leveler in Cradle The Spirit, but the k'd plugin is quite unstable for now. Noiseash plugins sounds okay but the way they are doing the coding with separating the EQ and put it outside the oversampling chain is just weird, it has oversampling, but the EQ somehow manage to cramp at the Nyquist, the Rule sounds good but has that problem. I used to like the old Neve CS and been using it for 1 year I think.

Never heard of that. Will check em out.

I have used this I think twice after I watch one NTM video. I only use the preset for FX for now. I agree the spatial modules are cool. The plugin also has a sound, I think, a character or EQ curve or some sort. I didn't fully examine everything, but whenever I use it I kinda expect it will change the vocal in some way. Also a lot of FX presets gems in this one. It feels more like a MultiFX rather than Vocalstrip to me, for now.

It looks simple and feels a lot like the Smart EQ in a way, maybe with added saturation. It think smart EQ does all that if you enable dynamic mode.

funny that I like certain modules on those plugins and all of them will work like how I'd want my vocalstrip if chained together.

The rider/leveller on The Spirit --> Preamp, Tape saturation, enhancer on GEM Voice --> 3 parallel compressions mix

Technically the IK JC VS has it all but I don't fancy the preamp and its drive, they sound a bit harsh to me.
