Yeah thats a more fun preset. But then i roll through the factory presets and they are all so pedestrian sound design wise. I get your point it though, it can be creative with a bit of farting about.

BUUT i did stick it on a master as Trigger suggested and yeah its drive is nice on the mix ill admit.

Ill put it in a rack with Soundtoys Decapitator and use them more. Both are very popular and obviously do sound good but being creative with them is a fiddly chore and they get ignored.

I was not aware of this developer but found a release on the sister site with very conflicting comments. I guess I'll have to test and see for myself. Many thanks for introducing me to this stuff. Highly appreciated.

 

Wow! that's en extensive list. It will take some time to review and grab those plugins one by one but it's a worthy investment, can never get enough of this stuff, it truly awesome. Thank you from the core of my heart for taking time and listing so many options here, very informative and very helpful.

 

For the same purpose I can't recommend Waveshaper's Spectre enough, although it has no dynamic modulation options like Saturn.

 

Cytomic is one of the best out there. They have three plugins (two if you don't count The Scream, which is still in beta lol) and they're ranked among the best of the best. What do conflicting comments say?

I remember I was frustrated with one release (from a repack on the russian site I think) cause it felt like a step back from what I had before. The latest one is just...

 

It was in my list, I second this. I have it on every channel now, not always used but ready to apply some magic where needed

 

Yeah... I like the simplicity of the UI, but not the limitations. Fortunately, the circuit under the hood is so simple that it can be rebuilt in just a minute ;)

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet but Airwindows have like a gazillion free plugins and they're all godly.

You can pick what you want to install in Waves Central. To some extent anyway. Try the Manny Maroquin, Bezerk, MDMX distortions too if you do install any of them.

 

My favs have been mentioned already...But, don't sleep on Future Audios DST. I consider it a Saturn 2 lite (less options/less CPU, less carbs/calories etc..) It's my goto for most anything but bass leads and vox. White sea studio did a review where he didn't acknowledge basic features. I think that hurt the popularity. It's perfect for some quick simple multiband grit/trash.

 

Audio Damage put out their legacy products for free. Kombinat and DVA are cool. They're harsh so be gentle.

 

Thank you for the pointers clone. Are all Waves bundle similar ? They have all the plugins from Waves or these bundles like those of UAD, different bundle with different set of plugins ?

Also, never used any Waves stuff but when I do, I'll be sure to check out their entire catalog. Many thanks for pointing out their saturation/distortion plugins. Will make sure they get tried on.

 

I second you on that opinion, really liked what it does to the wavform. Quality stuff.
