If you look at the interface you will see that there are only 9 space to choose from. IR are relatively short audio files. This is not an Altiverb type huge collection of various spaces and devices captured at various settings and positions. Just take a close glance at the interface, the available parameters and you will understand what is probably going on under the hood, if you have some knowledge and experience with audio plugins.

Nothing that goes beyond the capacity of Ableton's stock convolution reverb (or the one in Reaper, Logic, Cubase etc) and freebies (Convology XT for example), but I guess the people are easily impressed and attracted whenever they see a shiny GUI with nice pictures of old buildings?

From the developers page: MorphVerb covers all reverb types you could think of. It offers lush algorithms for Spring, Ambience, Echoes, Room, Chamber or Plate. It also features great spaces like Hall or Cathedral and your reverb can even be Infinite. And yes, I do have some knowledge and experience with audio plugins.

Just a reminder, MorphVerb is from UnitedPlugins, Melda's attempt to create a Plugin Alliance type of ecosystem. They tend to exaggerate a lot.
I've tried MorphVerb, Hyperspace and Verbum, all from United. Didn't like any of them.

I guess it's kind of a love or hate story, but another reverb I use quite often is DadaLife Endless Smile... it's designed for build-ups, but I use it just as a standard verb in many situations, because it's ultra simple and I like the sound of the default preset ("fist in the air").

If you want mine, I can sell it to you lol. It's not musical, makes a good source sound bad. I mean... I've owned it since the 1st day of release and still haven't used it (leave it on a stem) It's that bad!

the second you hear that plugin do a resonant filter cutoff reverb delay compression flanger sweep, it all makes sense. sort of. "oh, that's what that is", is for certain.

I stumbled over this video last night. It's a studio tour by Richard "Segal" Huredia:

You know he worked on Chronic 2001, Eminem, Xzhibit, etc. as Recording and Mixing Engineer.

In there, he explains recording on tap eetc, etc. And than he show the effect racks, where he got explicitely nostalgic and euphoric about the AMS RMX16 Digital Reverberation System. And I was like, "so that's what they have been using, huh?"

So I installed Convology XT and loaded up some fine Townhouse AMS RMX16 Impulse Responses by INHALT. And oh my god, that's the reverb sound I was looking for all the time. This is amazing. Especially the Ambiences to create some nice spacial depth.

It's easy to say the most expensive one or the reverb used by that producer is better. I'm not sure. Btw I'm not reacting to previous comments. I don't want act like the smartass. I must listen to the works of those recommending shiny plugins first.️

GlaceVerb from DaSample is not really the best reverb. But it's a good "bad" reverb, like Megaverb from Goodhertz. I like to use it for LoFi projects. Ambience is a good "bad" reverb too... But it was a good reverb 15 years ago.

I really love the Ambient Reverb by Stone Voices. Sadly the newest versions are not free anymore, and I didn't get enough pocket money to buy it, yet .-.
