I’ve used or tried almost every reverb at some point, sometimes its hard to stay with one or say this one definitely kills all others.. but I can agree with others that say Valhalla are the most over rated grainy cheap sounding verbs for their hype going. Nobody chooses them for the sound, they chose them either for the cheap price or because, even if they got better ones “for free” they were used to the simple interfaces. I hate the sound of Valhalla reverb, next to relab, lexicon, eventide... etc it sounds like a dsp algo taken from a beginners coding site. No flair, no mojo, no life and plenty of grainy mushy mix ruining sonics.

the confidence of some of its biggest fans is amusing “nothing beats Valhalla” posts on slutz etc, clear these guys ears aren’t upto the task.

In no particular order, ArtsAcoustic, Lexicon, Valhalla, and Raum.

    Lexicon Random Hall +1 +1 +1, it's a fantastic algo verb!

    Valhalla for easy tunability +1

Raum is on my default channel strip now, It's perhaps the best FX reverb and a quick way to move elements into the "background" in the mix. Basically a few knob space out for any given track.

Nothing beats VVV for the money. But, lots of things unquestionably beat VVV for more money.

I wouldn't say most beat Vahalla even for the money, I have tried 99% of the reverbs, went obsessed with it, and there's a reason most of the producers in modern music use Vahalla so much, whether VVV, Room or Plate, not to mention VDelay getting multiple plugin of the year awards last year which is crazy considering how saturated the delay market was.

I have the feeling that valhalla gets used alot in genres where artificial reverbs are mandatory, so that includes alot of the popular genres
I feel like lexicon PCM will always be my go to for neutral, natural sound, its light on the CPU aswell

    I have only two:
    First choice: Altiverb
Second choice, for small things: Reverb from iZotope Ozone 5 (unfortunately discontinued)

VVV There's so many algos in there and its, I've never not been able to get the verb i wanted from it. I wish they'd add ducking and synced pre delayl.

I've been using Softube TSAR-1 a ton recently. That and Eventide verbs.

    Perfect Room and Pro-R.

If Perfect Room didn't introduce so much latency i would use it all the time. It's that good.

This is probably the best reverb I've used so far in the Intel era. Before that, it was Arboretum Hyperverb (still the best sounding, in my opinion). I have just about every reverb out there and I still can't find a decent-sounding hall. Pro-R comes the closest. Valhalla's not bad, Lexicon PCM has some good stuff, IK's Classic Reverb has some good stuff and Altiverb's useful on orchestras. I think I may need to get away from hall reverbs on regular music and move to plates -- lots of good plate sounds out there.
