the most impressive one from your list is probably the Kazrog true iron. it can be put proudly on the second place right after UAD2's neve1073 and helios69

Interesting list, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on what you actually use them for and what they do for your mixes and music.

I like to find things that get me to where I wanna go with the path of least resistance. I try to mix as I go as much as possible. These plugs are good when I need to make my sound "better" with a knob or 2 and keep moving onto my ideas without getting distracted

Going to test out those UAD plugs now. You find that you can put them on and they make your sound better without much tweaking?

    - Fuse Audio Labs 562A Tube Amp
    - Analog Obsession TuPre
    - Plugin Alliance SSL E Channel

Either one of those gives me instant returns with minimal tweaking (at least in my case, since i mostly use sample libraries).

1 is Fuse Audio Labs 562A
    3 is Analog Obsession TuPRE

Already listed at the beginning of my post.

Nope not planning to use loopcloud. I'm old fashioned, i play the instruments of my sample libraries on my keyboard and i record them the linear-tape machine way.

Airwindows has many small-tweakers for great results.
Recently added OTT into my arsenal for EDM squash compression, punch and inyoface vibe.
Plus my own combos and secret weapons.

As usual, not cheat code plugins by some big brands.

Reaper as a cheat code DAW and RX as a cheat code audio editing/restoration. Other tools, src, apps etc

i tried Kazrog but I'm not yet good enough to use such a thing (barely makes a difference) what you use that for ? like I use Saturation Knob from Softube maybe? to make single tracks like fuller ?

    - Softube Saturation Knob
    - Arturia 1973 Console (great)
    - PSP Vintage warmer like he said is great
    - started using Klanghelm compressors (but I am learning compression)
    - Smart Comp from Sonible helped me sometimes ...
    - Thump (has a random preset knob that can bring surprising and creative filter settings...)

    Autotune!

No but seriously for me it would have to be Soothe, Gullfoss, and Lindell 80 series. Soothe and Gullfoss just actually feel like cheating. And the 80 series eq is so gentle and musical and the compressor just instantly sounds good, with minimal tweaking, on just about everything.

Wow these are all great! Gonna +1 OTT.

I always forget about PSP Vintage Warmer. So many new plugins distract from the tried and true.

Speaking of im gonna add Oxford - Inflator

All the links seem to go to Greg Wells MixCentric...
Although if a person can't Google them, maybe they should not attempt to use them :winker:

A long list of the UAD stuff I use feels kinda like cheating. In no particular order - Distressor and FATSO, Oxide Tape, Neve 1073, the 1176 and LA2A... I'm not judging them better or worse than anything else. I think u-he and brainworx have comparable plugins sound-wise but it takes virtually no effort to make things sound really good sweet - spots a mile wide as long as you RTFM and understand the hardware quirks that are modeled in the plugs. Special shout out to Ocean Way Studios and Precision De-Esser. Those are two are just exceptional. A total outlier in how good they sound and how easy it is to make them sound great.

Illformed Glitch 2 - I used to eschew shortcuts and easy stuff. I wanted to know how everything works, and not be carried by a particular plugin. Now I learned some of what I set out to learn and have no qualms about using stuff that makes complicated tasks perfectly effortless lol. I have an inkling that Turnado and Effectrix fit in this category as well. I used to use a cracked turnado but it's been a long time
(edit - i did not finish this sentence lol)

Fabfilter and Valhalla, both for the same reason. Something that sounds so good and offers so much depth has no business being so easy and intuitive lol
