    Hi!

I’m a beginner. I’m trying to make trancey electronic music with breakbeats. So, I created a drum loop. I don’t like how it sounds. But it sounds better together with my melody. Should it sound great on its own (in isolation)? How to improve it? How to become a super drummer? Is it a problem with samples selection or something else ? How to find the right kick?

Can you give me any advice, recommend tutorials?

    Thanks for the explanation there.
    Your personal taste.
    Music isn't colour-by-numbers.
Will it be heard on its own during the track? :winker:
Apart from general kick clean up, eq and comp, usually the whole point is what it sounds like all together.
A lot of older engineers I know will not solo anything to eq it once the mix is happening; eq in context of the mix.

    :dont:
Music made me a professional around the same age as you started in your teens.
    You must.
But also admit you should have waited until you were recognised for your skills.
Pretty unwise to expect an income from music unless you are offered something proper.
