Honest announcement from Accusonus should be:
"F*ck you if you bought our perpetual licence, we don't care about you, 'cause we're millionaires now."

This sucks. I liked the Regroover. No updates means it won’t make it to newer OSs.

Maybe we'll see a new kind of licence authentification, forced to log with your facebook account to use your plugin (same as what they did with Occulus)

The biggest question is what will Meta do with Accusonus ??!!
i have their entire beatmaking suit , faq's state that there will be no further development ,
when we buy products means that we further give a hand in the product development , the company should return a base amount to the buyers, in my opinion this merger dictated an end for the existing users \ believers in the company.
That's why i know why the keys for the products were sent to me by an email. maybe Meta will purge those old accounts aswell.
we are just DATA in binary fractions.

This will end in tears and anger. It sounds like the start of another Gibson reign of terror.

    Accusonus hold the US patents
    9,060,052, 9,414,158, 9,799,318 and 9,812,150.
My guess is that Facebook would like to incorporate reverb suppression and decomposition of voices in audio recordings in their own software so that they can better spy on you and your friends

    Exactly!
After this idiot sat with a frightened face on a stool in the US Congress, he is afraid of bright light in face.
It will work for the US State Department and special services, pry into and overhears.

AFAIK Accusonus is a pretty new company - I saw it introduced on Plugin Boutique a few years ago and actually thought it was Plugin Boutique own label.
What benefits does FB/Meta get from this deal, really? Guess I have overlooked something?!?

What Meta might want with this kind of technology is open to debate, but there will of course be speculation that it wants to bring it to the much-talked-about metaverse, the virtual reality playground that we’re all going to end up living in, apparently.

Metaverse - The most important things at a glance:

Tech companies like Meta, Microsoft and Nvidia want to create a digital world.
The first Metaverse-like environments already exist in online games.
Experts do not expect a fully developed metaverse for another 20 years because of the immense computing power involved.
The market potential is immense: the metaverse business is expected to be worth $800 billion by 2024.

At the latest since Mark Zuckerberg renamed the former Facebook group Meta last fall, the term has arrived in the mainstream. 800 billion U.S. dollars should comprise the metaverse business already in 2024, predicts the financial service Bloomberg Intelligence.
And this is despite the fact that the metaverse as such does not even exist yet. Instead, metaverse is used as a collective term for digital, three-dimensional worlds of experience in which people come together to play games, shop, meet with colleagues or attend concerts. Today they still look like cartoon characters, but later the digital avatars will visually resemble real people. Zuckerberg speaks of a "new generation of the Internet," also known as Web 3.0.

High-performance computers and advances in self-learning software (AI) and Internet bandwidth are expected to make it possible. The first Metaverse-like worlds already exist in online games - for example, in Fortnite.

The applications show: The metaverse has the potential to change commerce, investment, the real estate market, the world of work and leisure.

But there are also critical voices. Among them prominent faces like Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The metaverse is more "marketing than reality," he says. And Netflix CEO Reed Hastings also said in an interview with Handelsblatt that he would rather focus on this world than on a metaverse. Because of the immense computing power involved, even experts do not expect a fully developed metaverse for another ten to 20 years.

    Metaverse: What is the goal?

The versions of the groups differ in their concrete designs. At the core, however, they all want to create a walkable version of the Internet.

Ideally, however, the Metaverse will run in a decentralized manner - i.e., it will not be controlled by anyone. This should make it possible to connect the various systems as seamlessly as possible. Objects and currencies should be able to be transferred from one element of the Metaverse to the next.

To achieve this, however, the companies would have to agree on uniform structures and interfaces or even merge completely. If this does not happen, a seamless transition between the individual worlds is not possible. This means that different metaverses can emerge side by side.
It is currently impossible to estimate when this vision will become reality and in what form. The transition could be fluid in the next few years. One feature will probably be added after the other. For example, it is already possible to enter the virtual world with Facebook's own virtual reality (VR) glasses and meet your colleagues at the virtual conference table.

    Who is developing the Metaverse?

Since the nineties, inventors and companies have been trying to develop a digital world like the one Neal Stephenson described in his book.
The change has taken shape primarily in computer games, where Metaverse-like environments have existed for years: In addition to game developers Roblox or Second Life, Fortnite is working on the Metaverse. Concerts and film premieres also take place there. They have already reached audience figures in the millions.

But the tech giants are also investing huge sums to jump on the hype and earn money from the Metaverse. Microsoft wants to create a virtual world for working life and move meetings into virtual space, with participants meeting their colleagues in digital conference rooms as avatars. By the end of the year, the company plans to offer virtual reality and augmented reality glasses integration with Microsoft Teams. These special glasses allow wearers to perceive a computer-generated world in real time (virtual reality, VR) or to superimpose digital content on the viewer's real environment (augmented reality, AR).

Meta, formerly Facebook, wants to create an all-encompassing metaverse that integrates all areas of life. Currently, the initial focus is on chat rooms for friends and colleagues.

Nvidia is developing the Omniverse, a hardware and software platform that can virtualize complex real-world objects. BMW was one of the first users to simulate production in the real factory in order to predict and eliminate errors before construction begins.

Tencent and Epic Games, the companies behind Fornite, also want to turn their computer games into a large metaverse. In addition to the actual games, events such as concerts are to take place.

technology patents, Meta/Facebook is obsessed with AI, they can already tell what you want, what's in the pictures, so they need audio expertise now, voice recognition being a step - which needs to be pre-processed with audio cleanup and leveling (which is exactly what ERA is about)
