Any word on a price for this yet? I'm sure it'll be more than I'm willing to pay for it--that's the Fabfilter way--but I'm pretty curious.

BTW - most people announce a price well before the product release. Even expensive stuff like UVI Falcon had a price tag before release, and the intro price was announced as well. I think the fact that they're trying to build all this hype and keeping total silence regarding the price tag does not bode well. I hope I'm wrong. I like FF. Good plugins, good support, good discounts for existing owners, but their pricing is batshit ridiculous. They are better than most of their competitors, but not that much better that $190 for an EQ is justified.

FabFilter Pro-R is Here... tomorrow ( :) ) (probably it's not an IR Convolution Reverb).

    @Cav Emp
I suppose not <$149,00 (the offer to legit user should be cheaper)

Pffft. I'm so sure it won't be under $150 that if it is, I'll buy you a copy.

lol... I don't believe FF guys will evaluate Pro-R like Saturn or Twin 2 (both $129,00)... but BlackFriday is near.

Damn, now you mention that. The price of Twin 2 is actually quite ridiculous! Compare that to Xfer Serum (and its price) which isn't even THAT much more expensive and after you thought about just that actually compare the products. The differences are absolutely insane as far as product quality goes. Not even saying Twin 2 sucks but it's not nearly as good as many of the other synths out there. Got to agree with Cav Emp here, overall the prices on FabFilter stuff is quite a bit over the top. Yeah, their products are absolutely top notch but they usually don't actually make up for the premium being asked over other products. Basically top quality products but they aren't necessarily the best value for money.

Not that I should whine about it. I'm still on route towards going completely legit (it's a slow process but still making progress) and although I love FabFilter stuff and use it quite regularly, their prices put them way down on my list on my way to going fully legit. Too many other people that make products just as good (within their niche markets of course) that ask quite a bit less of a premium and subsequently I feel deserve my money more than those guys do.

Dude... it's even worse when you compare apples to apples. Fabfilter's big deal with Twin 2 is the analog modeling, particularly in the filters... well check out how it stacks up to u-he, who IMO actually does modeling better. $130 for Bazille, $130 for Filterscape + Filterscape VA synth + Filterscape dynamic EQ, $150 for Hive, $85 for ACE... And tbh Twin 2 is probably most comparable to ACE, given their respective features, and filter drive but no overall distortion and barely anything for FX. Even Diva is only $40 more than Twin 2.

To be fair, I have the same complaint about Ableton, and I love their products too. Compare the full-feature prices of DAWs
    Cubase Pro $515
    S1 Pro $400
    FL Signature $300
    Bitwig $300
    Logic Pro $200
    Live Suite $750

I've said as much in their surveys. I told them that I would recommend Live to anyone who wants the best workflow for producing, but I would recommend Live to nobody on a budget. I also said that calling Live Standard a full version is a joke. No sampler, no operator... I can see excluding third party add ons like Glue, the AAS stuff, Softube Amp, etc... but when you sell Live Standard as a full DAW and don't even include a proper sampler in the package, you're just pulling the customer's pole.

Yeah I got rid of almost all my FF stuff when I went legit. I bought Pro Q 2 on sale and Saturn used. I still use Pro-MB it's my only cracked plugin.

The quality of FF tools is pretty high until your needs don't lead you to other stuff. Pro-C2 is a valuable piece of software but it can't help you if you need a specific emulation (ie 1176 or A2 or Fairchild 670). Again, I was used to trust Pro-L until I decided to test AOM Invisible Limiter and, I still can't believe it, the limiter word has acquired a new sense. So... comparing tools is a precious way to choose the better stuff but the price (imo) is not always a good parameter.

Yes, you need it, its the last gap standing between you and success.

Can we get a small Charlie Sheen "winning" icon for rating?
That would make AS even cooler than other beta sites like GS.

This is the best looking plugin on the market right now. I just want to put it on a channel and watch it, never mind listen to it.

And Dan Waroll had me sold at "Welcome to this introduction to..."

This plugin looks amazing to use and will no doubt be great quality. For me Fabfilter are Essential and very high quality. You are short changing yourself with anything else. I cant afford to be cheap ;)

Yes, Pro Q2 is pretty. It ends up full screened on the 50in I use as a 3rd display for eye candy when Im producing/mixing. When Im mastering insight takes its place.

  21. It looks like this one is going to be the one. Fab.
