This is the latest version avaliable from March 2019, fully patched with NO time bombs.
The R2R version for macOS from March is a failed release they couldn’t be bothered to fix that does not take into account the new time bomb FabFilter added in the latest versions of their plugins.
The March 2019 updates from FabFilter added various improvements and fixed some bugs but most notably they were fully notarised installers and signed binaries to comply with the Catalina guidelines apple laid out in 2018 (well done FabFilter for actually doing this before Catalina release unlike other companies *cough* iZotope *cough*).
However with these shiny new signed binaries came a sneaky new time bomb which is triggered when the binaries code is altered and doesn’t match fabfilters code signature or the plugins code signature itself is altered which also triggers the bomb.
It was very easy to find and patch out this bomb by changing just one byte. So no more nasty surprises. enjoy

But unfortunately for us PC users, she does not specify which byte to change, or what to search for in a debugger.

 

I can tell you the Byte but remember that you have to fix it on every FF plugin.
I still have the Cashmere release on my hard drive, you can find it on AudioLove.

so you only have to change bytes for the pc version? Is audilove a safe place to download from?

 

I had it bomb on windows. As has long been this discussed in this forum, the trigger is built-in the dll or something like that, because even a firewall-ed daw will time bomb (as was my case)

 

Hopefully you get the solution, good luck, I stopped using those plugs because of that, really annoying, and they aren't cheap either to consider buying them over others, I use legit toneboosters now and don't miss ff at all, any decent alternative will do the job, granted, it's really cpu efficient but that's about it.

 

timebomb happens after you have tweaked it for a while (30 minutes or so), doesnt happen if you run it without any tweaking, thats probably why r2r have overlooked it, and no you dont need internet access for it to happen even tho it automatically opens a website when the timebomb hits

 

Yeah I know now, read the above replies. Cashmere released a fix for Mac and claims you only have to hex edit one byte in all the plugins. Not sure if that's really true or not, she may have meant "edit" in x32dbg/x64dbg. But for PC we have no idea which byte, or what pattern to search for in a debug tool.

 

They haven't fixed the latest release on Windoze. You will have to uninstall the version on your computer and go back to the November 2018 release until somebody fixes it. As you're on Windoze, this will most likely be sooner than later. No, there's no workaround to keep the last version on your computer; whatever is happening with the timebomb is in the app itself, not with anything it installs on your computer. Good news is, the November 2018 release is rock-solid and won't be affected by whatever timebomb the latest version is going through (but I'd still do a thorough cleaning before downgrading, just to be safe!).

i tried the cashmere release now and it didn't accept the serials (kanye lol)

had do downgrade to 2018 again :/

 

only if you loaded AU. VST/VST3 accept serial number (Total bundle 2019.03.13).

 

If you would rather uninstall fabfilter plugins using the add/remove programs, Uninstall, then do the following

1) Open up a run window and type (regedit) without the brackets
2) When the registry editor opens click on the triangle to the left of
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
3) Look down to where it says SOFTWARE and again click the triangle to the left of it to open
4) Delete FabFilter folder
5) Scroll down to Wow6432Node (again click the triangle to the left of it)
6) Find the FabFilter folder here too and delete it.
7) Go offline
8) Reinstall.


Please note, this is how you do it using win7 64bit. Please amend accordingly to whatever operating system you are using.

Also, and this is extremely important. Don't rely on ANYTHING Microsoft to keep you safe.

 

I was going to say something similar. I provoked the bomb and then uninstalled and reinstalled very fast because I use a no install version.
Worked again so that means it is the registry. You can clear the fabfilter registry like @Sylenth.Will.Fall said.
It's even more easy with a .reg file like this:

A couple of things more:

I agree to certain degree but in this case it's just the opening of a link which triggers the browser.

I could provide in AZ the symlink version (you also keep the presets and stuff). Don't PM me!! I don't want to end like @The Pirate , you guys seriously messed him up

 

Latest FabFilter Total Bundle v2019.03.13 still works for me on my offline PC with WIN10 ..

We didn't :O, it was the sheer mention of the words 'HOW' 'INSTALL' and 'OMNISPHERE' that did it. poor guy

Fab itself has internal integrity check protection, it will kick back in no matter if offline, resulting in hyperlink opened on default internet browser of notice

 

All being said... this is interesting technically speaking but I thing I'm just gonna switch to the non-bombing 2018 version.

 

sorry to go slightly off topic but all this trouble would be simply avoided if they were more reasonably priced. Just my opinion of course, but ridonkulously overpriced - would almost be tempted if it's ever half-priced since it's so high most regular times... wonder if some corona apocalypse pricing might be in the works as a lot of developers are kinda treating this outbreak like Black Friday, EOY sales, etc. Honestly, if the bundle was a quarter of its current price, nobody would be fussed... absolutely a great product, hands down - but yeah, at the price that it's at - well, out of reach for the casual hobbyist/student/beginner to say the least...
