Is there a way to install (authorize) EZdrummer 2.1.1 R2R update without a network card ???

As I see, to authorize, You need a network card, and when later You disable the network card, the software reverts to unauthorized...

Anyone knows for a solution ?

I guess you´re lucky you dont have a connection because Im sure that means you can install without any problems. I could be wrong but this is my best guess!

I can install it without problems, but to generate the auth. code/file You need a network card.
...and here, everything runs as it should; the auth. file gets generated, and I can authorize and use the software.

The problem arises when later I disconnect (disable) the network card.
The software detects that there is no network card, and resets the authorization, since it seems the auth. is related to that piece od hardware, and when it sees that it is not present, it reverts to unauthorized.

Same problem here, mate. Is your network card a virtual one? I mean, in my case, I use a notebook without a physical card, so the only way to detect a card is when I toggle the "WiFi" button on. Is this the same that happens to you?

No, i have a "real one", but I keep it disconnected in the device manager, since it is my DAW OS.

I could maybe solve the problem by physically disconnecting the phone cable every time I use the software and leave the device connected in the device manager; but it is a Multi Boot PC, and I need a line for the Linux OS and Internet.
It would be very inconvenient to have to plug/unplug the cable every time I log into a different OS.

Hey Rhodes: I'm going to make several assumptions. 1. You've pre-patched the "EZdrummer.dll" file in the VST Toontracks folder. 2.You're performing the "Offline Authorization" method. 3. You have a firewall that will block outgoing traffic (no need to disconnect from anything if you have one). 4. You're using some version of Windows. That being said, I too, was having a problem getting the update to work on Windows 7 x64. So, I checked off the first three things that I suggested above. (I always use a firewall for to block the hosts of any software that I'm "testing"). If you have a third-party uninstaller, such as, Revo Uninstaller, you might want to completely uninstall the EZDrummer update and try the update process again. Personally, I've never encountered a request for a "network card" from any of the EZDrummer programs during or after the installation of any their product(s) updates. Just a few random thoughts...

    @NYCGRIFF :
I do not have a firewall, antivirus or any similar thing on my daw, since I have my network disabled.
I just don`t feel comfortable having my network enabled and relying on firewalls or things like that.

I like to keep my (daw) system stripped of all unneeded services and clean, with no connection possibility.

I understand perfectly. However, I believe since you've completely disabled your network capabilities, EZDrummer will request one by default -- even if you use the "Offline" option. There are many programs that perform that check. That is what compelled me to grab a FREE firewall that will BLOCK any attempts from the program's host to gain Internet access. If you feel uncomfortable, you can always remove it 'after' the update has completed. Otherwise, you may not be able to move forward with this update. I know, it sounds crazy, but that's the way certain software behaves.

By the way, I also like my DAW disconnected from the Internet. But unfortunately, in cases such as the one you're experiencing, that's not always possible. This scenario is a perfect illustration.

I hear you loud and clear, Rhodes. It's a decision that I reached a while back that was extremely uncomfortable, friend. In the end, we have to ask ourselves, is this "update" worth it?

It isn't the update. EZDrummer 2 has always had this problem. I've had this issue since it was first released by R2R.

But for the previous releases there was a solution using the TVB patched dll files

Perhaps exists a soft dummy Ethernet emulator?

Have you tried leaving the hardware enabled and using some arbitrary network settings that prevent you from actually getting online?

seeing as i have a router my daw is on my network but has no internet access at the router ... works fine and a LAN card is a lot less taxing on your system then firewall software :)

hey, just patched ezdrummer v2.1.1 (vst & rtas) based on the v2.0.2 patch by TVB
for a user who asked me for help because of the network card bug (as usual I don't call any name).

Check AudioZ from time to time if you need it - it will be online soon!
