    Dear all,

I have non legit ezdrummer 2 extension packs like cocktail or jazz but I cant make them work on ezdrummer3, even though it detects they in the folder, it keeps popping up that i need to install them through toontrack manager.

I am on mac os x monterey.

does anybody could please help me sorting this out?

    thanks in advance.

You can create a folder named something like EZdrummer or Toontrack, and dump all of these files into it. You go into the plugin preferences and change the location to that main folder. It's very helpful if you want to keep all of the core library, etc on an external drive. It works without symlink or alias. If it doesn't work, then you have a different problem than just the directory structure.

Well, now you mention Latin Percussion as your problem. Is it only this library you are having the same problem with? I found a thread on the Cakewalk forums, where there are apparently some very nice helpful people. http://forum.cakewalk.com/Toontrack-EZ-drummer-issues-with-Latin-Percussion-m2928408.aspx. Unfortunately they did not post the response from Toontrack that fixed this.

Ultimately Toontrack support sent the guy a fix. Obviously you do not have that option. Another forum had a member mention this about the same Mac Library: "anyone knows how to install this on m1 monterey ? all the new ezx from 23-5-2022 till 25-5-2-22 installers, i get the error: installer needs to be updated. I got the latest superior ez drummer and ez drummer for mac installed, so, anyone?... ". Noone replied to him. And that was the last shared version of LP.

Most of the time an error like the one you describe is rooted in Authorization. Have you tried installing these libraries under Rosetta2? If you do have other libraries with problems, see if any of them are also from the May 2022 timeframe. Some developers actually make these popup error messages deliberately useless and confusing.

Another issue which you can look into are the Permissions on that particular library's folder. You may need to Codesign things so Gatekeeper allows it to work. Also, if the problem is possibly with permissions, you can use BatChmod or Permissions Reset 2 free applications to allow those folders permissions as RWX for all users. The drummer app could be running into a folder which it does not have permission to access.

One last Hail Mary idea would be to remove the version you have and install an older version first; ensure that is working, and then attempt to update that working installation. Codesign everything, even if it is not mentioned in the instructions you got with the files.
