OK, I just realised there are some older cr*cks around that are working native on Apple Silicon. So I'm sorry for my earlier post, I just misunderstood that.

But as Rosetta is working so good, I didn't even bother to search for native versions of Toontrack plugins. Despite a bit longer loading time, the latest CE V.R releases work fine with Logic Pro native (AU hosting compatibility service) and Reaper (AU hosting compatibility service or Reapers own VST3 bridge).

Maybe a large SD3 setup will benefit from native arm support, but EZbass, EZkeys or EZdrummer shouldn't be that much of a CPU hog and run fine under Rosetta.

Thanks! Would you happen to be able to link me to an EZBass install that will work? I take it the updates that appear are just that, only updates due to their size

No, I'm not wrong, but I was really referring to everything post 1.1.0 as "recent versions".

As you've seen in the rest of the thread, the situation is more complex than you realised. When you run a native app like Logic, you can't just use the Intel binary (which has been patched correctly), as given there is, from recent versions 1.1.0 onwards, an Arm binary present, the host (running natively) will run that, and it hasn't been patched, and therefore crashes.

That's why I had to revert to pre-1.1.0 versions, which *only* had Intel binaries, which would then run under Rosetta.

It *might * be possible to strip the Arm binary from a more recent version, and thus force a native app to run it under Rosetta and workaround the unpatched Arm issue, but I haven't tried.

The version I have installed is 1.1.7 CE V.R. I didn't test the 1.1.8 released yesterday yet, but I think it should work also.

No, this time I'm sure you are wrong, because I'm running Logic 10.7.7 native with EZbass 1.1.7 Intel on a MacBook Air M1 with macOS Ventura 13.2.1.

If you open up activity monitor, you can see a process called "AUHostingCompatibilityService (Logic Pro)" using 1.18 GB of RAM which is the process Logic uses for Intel AUs running with Rosetta.

I am on Mac M1. The standalone EZBASS shows up but even with a validated plugin in Logic Pro, it doesn't show up. Thanks for your help.

There has been no change or recent development beyond what @dkny has already explained above. If there is, the releaser will include that info, unless they happen to forget. It is a known and long-standing issue.
