Here is a first sample of some stuff I've been working on. Been experimenting with a new mastering chain so if anything comes to mind I'd be grateful to hear your thoughts! Thanks for your time:bow:

You're developing a real unique and cool production style here.

The sound is nice and smooth in an analog way. You need to work on adding the low end punch and mid definition. I mean in your beat this is not just about EQ, it will be about choosing new instruments/sounds to add.

Also might want to rethink how you're making your arrangements flow. It's flowing in a very cool, organic way that I liked from section to section, but what it's actually doing makes little sense sometimes. For example, when in the beginning of the beat you have that filtered beat come in and start to build excitement, that says to me as the listener that you're going put your foot down and start kicking me in the face with much louder unfiltered and exciting sounds in a moment. But you never do, you build up that anticipation but then "nahh", just go into a laid back drop. That's what I mean, the transitions were cool, but where it went made no sense. Poor dude shouted "get up" over and over but he never actually got it up.

I think you're putting too much processing on the master, which means everything gets combed the same exact way. Think about giving each band member a different haircut instead. Split it up, put one kind of processing on one submix, and different stuff on others, so by the time the little rivers all flow into the master 2-bus, there's little you need to add on there, just some careful cohesion stuff, making sure to preserve how your submixes are sounding different and complimentary on purpose.

    Hello @KungPaoFist :)
Very nice composition & i like the arrangement start to finish. For me this works as an introduction/teaser for an amazing journey that will follow later on the next tracks of an album/Lp :winker:
Technically speaking the vocal shout, the snares & hi hats,
all can benefit in the mix if you lower them 1-2 db's imho (also taking out some resonating frequencies).
Thank you for sharing & have a great weekend !:bow:

Thank you all so much for the awesome tips! I think they all would improve this after implementation aso I'll work that out, I ran into some more computer breakdown issues but will post some more in a bit.

I would like to hear the strings more clearly. I think some of the lower mid could be more defined. The mix is a bit to "lush" to my ears.

Maybe part of it is the master processing Satai mentioned earlier.

Great work! And thank you for sharing... Always appreciate listening to your stuff.

Nice buildup and instrumentation towards the end.More defined low end and some cuts in the mids might do wonders to the production.Great work of art with direction, a sense of increasing tension and release.Really liked the intro piano kind of thing before the vocal shout.

Sounds hi-pass filtered... Lacks low end (it may have sub, but I'm not hearing it on these speakers + I'm too lazy to check on headphones) Add a real melody after all this build up, it goes nowhere musically and there is nothing to be remembered.

Background music is usually formulaic and less memerable, I should have picked a better track to upload for entertainments sakes. I definitely got some great feedback from this though, thanks for listening!

    I like the song.

what you did in the beginning - until 0:35 - was cool, there is this kind of lofi / mono vibe that should totally be contrasted by a more wide positionning in your choruses.

I don't know how you work, but try keeping a basic template untouched, and make several mixing versions, with different ideas.

if your DAW allows it, try to mix in "touch mode", even if I like automation when it comes to precision in the mix, sometimes we're working faster with touch.

mixing is not only about frequencies, it's also about location in space and the stéréo field.

nice job for the tune anyway :)

Nice production, in a movie style :invision: It reminds me the soundtrack of "Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2"
