When ever i download a file from the site the keygen inside the folder is quarentiend when i try to activate it. AVG is doing this but i cannot figure out how to stop this (windows) . it says some along the lines of mal;keygen (or malware;name)
Can anyone give me some insight?

also this is my first post, long time ghost visitor and thanks to the community/contributors

Depends on the site. Normally the keygens from siter site (AZ) are ok (as far as I know). Just disable AVG when downloading/activating and disconnect from internet when activating and/or using the plugs (some of them call home).

You need to deactivate avg 'live' protection.

If you feel uncomfortable with being 'unprotected'. You could try using Microsoft build in security features which has less false positives but is just as effective in my experience.

Always disable anti-virus while installing/using keygen for warez stuff.

all keygens are seen as malware by the very nature of what they do, all anti virus will detect as malware, i use avast pro and i disable it until i have installed the plugin and used the keygen, also antivirus will still remove keygens if you are not using them, avast do this but only on my main drive, best way to stop them from being removed is to use winrar to pack the keygen and keep it in the plugin folder you dl, that way you will not lose the keygen for said plugin, if you have any doubts at all you can upload the keygen to a virus check site like virus total or jotti virus scan

in avira you can disable real time protection for good and remove exe files from the extensions list, then you still can scan any exe file by right clicking - scan file with avira.

I dont know about this antivirus, but most of them can be configured so you take the decisions.
The one I use dont give false positive and still protects me, it's free and includes a firewall. It's called Zone Alarm.

just be aware that if there really was a virus or trojan or rootkit in the keygen, by turning off your antivirus just for the moment to use the keygen, you just infected your machine. the best solution is to install a sandbox program to do all of your software testing in. this one is free: https://cuckoosandbox.org/

OP's AV detected this (presumably) correctly.. It never said it was something really nasty. Malware - ok, whatever that means.. :keygen - yes, it IS a keygen. AVG must keep some rep, so they can't tell a lie, like shitload of other less known AVs. But it can still "flag" the kg, paint it red, quarantine.. to get paid by the devs of the main prg (scarring ppl).

It's a good idea to run a KG sandboxed, as @realitybytez mentioned. But it will not always work (e.g., if you have to patch something, if it needs privileges of a sort, aso..)

Yesterday I d-lded a known .bat to .exe converter. Legally, from devs site,.. It's a simple legit "tool", but will trigger more than a quarter of AV engines. Now, imagine what "tools" our heroes ;) use to make a KG. No wonder half of the engines will go "red".

    ..it's a wild world, lol
