Hi folks,

i would like to get some information on these Emulators which are provided in some current releases from r2r (as an example).
Saw izotopes Iris 2 on the brother-site today, and this release also includes an Emulator...?
Can anybody tell me, what this is, or does?

Read about this a while ago, with Breaktweaker. Seems like you need iLok drivers to run it - i have iLoke drivers installed because i do have an iLok (2), with some legit licenses on it.
But what will the Emulator from R2R do to my system?
Has anybody tried using one of these "incl. Emulator"-releases along with a iLok??

And don't get me wrong - i know that i could easily test that by installing this software but i'm super-careful and anxious about that. So i hope anybody can help ;)

iZotope Emulators

Our emulator does not patch any plugins so that you can make AAX working.
It is NOT a driver based and never cause system crash!
(As far as you are using right)

0.Install iLok driver (iLok License Manager).
https://www.ilok.com/
1.Uninstall previous versions.
2.Install the product.
3.Replace files with our emulator (AuthAssistant.exe)
[32bit PC]
/Program Files/iZotope
[64bit PC]
/Program Files (x86)/iZotope
4.Run the plugin and Authorize with iLok option.
5.Enjoy!

hi from what i read here from iZotope info
the only files that will be changed are the ones you change yourself by copying R2Rs (AuthAssistant.exe) over the iZotope real one,
it just tells ilok that the plugin is reg so it should be ok to use with ilok 2
just dont put the usb ilok 2 in your pc /mac when your runing any ilok cr@cked programs the frist time and see if they work,
you can also install the plugins in a sandbox and run your daw in it as well to see what files have changed,
but there should be no info changed on your key,
you will get more info from a few other users here in a bit,

 

"run the plug in and authorise with ilok option" can I do that offline or do I need a connection? Sorry not used Ilok before.

Seems like installing in a virtual machine or sandbox is a good idea. i don't use that, because i only use plugins that run flawlessly (after testing everything on an old computer)
But maybe i should consider installing sandbox or something like this.

Good point, i don't know and i have the same issue, my recording/music computer is offline, too.

maybe someone here has tried such an inc. emulator-release along an iLok , would be great to hear if this is possible!

Can I do that offline or do I need a connection?
In other words...did someone get it working
without Internet.....???
I deleted everything that has to do with the
Net...on my Workhorse PC....
Would like to try...Iris 2.

i believe that this release works, of course. (haven't tried Ozone ...)

i would have no worries installing this and the emulator and trying it out - my only concern is running this along an legit iLok..... and i don't even know if my worries are justified!
but i think i will try it tonight, seems like i should have no worries.. although i would really like to read if someone here tested this ... please let me know, thanks!

 

One thing you can do in case the iLok2 licenses get messed up is reinstall them to the iLok on another computer (no cracks.) Something happened to mess up my iLok2 - not sure what, I think it may have been Ozone 5 but I didn't use the R2R emulator version. I just fixed it on another computer and now it's working fine alongside my cracks (again, no R2R emulators on my system - like you I haven't had the guts to try it yet.) But it sounds like it'll work fine. Let us know after you try.

 

OK... i unplugged my iLok, did run the installer, copied this file, tried - it worked
Plugged the iLok back in and all licenses are there, so.. everything's just fine.
