Mondays got you feeling sluggish? That's okay because you've got a Catalyst in your pocket. I'll be here all week long spinning your soon to be favorites and before you know it you'll be chugging right along. Mondays...we're bringing them back. :dancing:

By the way I intend for the videos to be listened to from left to right and then down. It doesn't really matter but if you want the exact arrangement that I had in mind that would be the way to do it.

Something tells me you're going to love the next two tracks:

I want to bring up one of the currently most important german synthesizer musicians, who has influenced me a lot: Mathias Grassow.
With more than 70 CD releases and as part of collaborations with many other musicians, he is one of the most creative electronic guys of the present.
His genre: Spiritual Ambient. "El Hadra" is for example a well known release by Mathias, which was a collaboration
with Mat's main musical teacher Klaus Wiese (Ex-member of Popol Vuh).

    Just three samples:
The first is one of the newer tracks from "Mosaic", a CD which he has made together with John Haughm from Agalloch:

Second is from "Ambessence - Piano and Drones", a collaboration with pianist Bruno Sanfilippo:

The third track is (unfortunately) just a very short cut from one of Mat's earlier CD's, an Ambient milestone, the brilliant "Deeper Purity".
It's in original 45 Min long, without breaks.

WOW - Other of your surprises Pete Namlook other regular at home...

    As it was Steve Roach...

And particulary Jon Hassell - Power Spot (the album)

    Hi folks,
for everyone who havent seen yet and is interested in history of synthesizer's music in the late 70's and early 80's especially in great britan. Here's a link to the fantastic BBC4 documentation.
Also a lot of analog gear is shown.

OK..for everybody who hates british synthpop and experimental electronics of these days..here is a warning. Following bands are interviewed: Kraftwerk, Human League, Heaven 17, Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, New Order, Ultravox, Visage, Soft Cell...

This guy shouldn't be absent in a thread about electronic music: Klaus Schulze. His Big Moog modular system (100kg) is one of the legendary synths of the 70s.
First track: a unique time document from 1977, where "german Wunderkind" Schulze presented his music for the first time in public TV.
Second track: three decades later. A collaboration with Lisa Gerrard from 2008.

By the way: i want to say thanks to all of you. Great music in this thread !

Absolutely Alraun, Klaus Schulze is a legend. I actually had put up Echoes of Time on the Dance Music Production: Counterpoint thread as a response to the accusation that electronic musicians don't make music that is a journey. In fact the aforementioned track clocks in at around 40 minutes and the point was proven quickly after the person I was having the discussion with pressed play. It is located here: http://audiosex.pro/index.php?/topic/6789-dance-music-production-counterpoint/ The track is on page 2 but if you feel so inclined I would read the whole conversation because it's actually quite interesting. I'm really glad that you've been enjoying the Conversations series, it makes me happy that you've made some discoveries and I thank you for appreciating it and for taking the time to let us know. As always Alraun, you rock! :mates:

This is certainly one of my favorite journeys by this iconic artist and I'll edit this post later to include more of his work:

    We aim to please. *yes*

You might know this. Didn't John Hassell once write a song entitled The Blue Way? I can't find it anywhere. It was inspired by a short story.

Don´t know that is my dad´s stuff I mean he has the actual records...
All that music was vinyl...I know the covers from the 80´s ambient.
So homely in a way ...

    Is this?

Good morning/afternoon fellow Audiosexers. It's Catalyst here with some tunes to keep you moving today. Enjoy:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MD3SWM7ux7M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9UJZjZd-Oc
There were no lyrics available so I had to transcribe them myself:

    It only takes a moment
    To throw your life away
    It only takes a second
    To dig an early grave

    Caught in the vicious circle
The young man on the street
    Another day upon us
    In The 21st Century
    In the 21st Century

    And down on every corner
There's a story to be told
    Cause money gets you nowhere
When you think it is being sold ?

    An internet sensation
    A one minute celebrity
    'Cause everyone is famous
    In The 21st Century
    In the 21st Century
