Underworld. Great live band, very energetic and interesting visuals. That whole Tomato collective thing
    Code:

Independent designer collectives became common place during the 90s. Flyer art, lots of futurist fonts (mostly from Japan and Germany, well Berlin), tools like Photoshop, and computers really amped that scene.

Some of them are still around, look!
    Code:

Büro Destruct, from Switzerland was doing similar things

Layer mania suddenly was everywhere. Where would MTV be without the concept of the layer?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFhch7W2TBI

To those who wonder, MTV used to be a TV channel that played music videos. </irony>

It's a shame there isn't a down-vote function. You can thank someone, but you can't hate them. We need a hate button! Hate FTW :lmao: . That way if someone gets too many negative votes, he could be auto-put into penalty for a week or two.

Yeah man Better Things is great and ditto on Craig Armstrong. Haven't checked out Colleen's new stuff thoroughly though. I only heard a few songs off of the new album and I liked them a lot.

We didn't have one of the most legendary iconic bands on here so I thought I'd rectify that immediately. This seems like a great way to kick things off:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxppv9ruCvI

Coldplay's Talk is an homage to this track. What a classic that is still relevant all these years later:

I really love this next track. Sorry but they didn't have the English version of this video on YouTube so I had to go with Vimeo:
    Kraftwerk - The Telephone Call

Great picks Rolma, you have quite the refined palette. I've heard you speak of Brian Eno, Squarepusher and many other interesting artists, movies and directors I like.

Wonder how well Monark would hold up against that Moogish sound in there? Pretty well I imagine.

Fuck yeah Feridan! Great track. I messed around with Monark a little. It has a sweet sound but very limited modulation options. From what I gathered it didn't have a modulation matrix or precise control over the release time of both amp and filter envelopes. It's still a sweet synth though and I love Reaktor. *yes*

It's Catalyst here ready to begin another late night transmission. The night is still and the weather is just right for a midnight drive. So let's take a ride down the lost highway...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aepBpZ3kXek

Everyone has a little secret he keeps, I light the fires while the city sleeps :boombox:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLPsYfB-4gs
Stealing down an ally on a cold dark night
I see a halo in the rain around the street light
I stop and look, and listen to the sound
As the raindrops penetrate the silence all around
Alone, I gaze into the glistening street
The distant thunder echoing my heartbeat
Urging me on to a secret goal
Away from the light from this lamp on a pole
So I turn, slip away into the rain
Drifting like a spirit through the shadows in the lane
Clutching the tools of my trade in my hand
An old box of matches and a gasoline can
Darkness envelopes the scene like a shroud
A veil of emptiness hangs from the clouds
Filling up the cracks in this desolate place
Cradled by the night in an icy embrace

Moving to the town like a ghost in the rain
A dim reflection in a dark window pane
    Blackness beckons from every side
Creeping all around like an incoming tide
A broken window in an empty house
I slip inside and begin to douse
The whole place with the fuel that will feed the fire
And push back the night, taking me higher
On out of the darkness in a defeaning roar
The match in my hand is the key to the door
A simple turn of the wrist will suffice
To open a passage to paradise
I pause, I think about the past and the gloom
The smell of gasoline permeates the room
Everyone has a little secret he keeps
I light the fires while the city sleeps

    (Like the 4th of July)

The match makes a graceful arc to the floor
And time stands still as I turn for the door
Which explodes in a fireball and throws me to the street
I hit the ground running with the flames at my feet
Reaching for the night which recoils from the fire
The raindrops hiss like a devilish choir
Dying in the flames with a terrible sound
Calling all the names of the sleepers all around
But then in the arms of the night, they lay
Their dreams sprout wings and fly away
Out of the houses in a gathering flock
Swarming overhead as I hurry down the block
I make my escape with the greatest of ease
And savor the darkness, drop to my knees
And the lightless window, my hand on the latch
I reach in my pocket, and pull out a match

    (Like the 4th of July)

Since you liked that so much here's a cool video that goes with it:

My next few songs are dedicated to a disease called love. :bleh:
Wait until I get my hands on the Industrial thread, then you'll see a show (particularly on that topic). :headbang:

We'll kick it off with this 12'' promo mix of Love Can Damage Your Health:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fl3ZQa6jAI

I posted this next video on the Music I'm Listening To thread on AudioZ but I don't know if everyone got a chance to see it so here's Groove Armada - Shameless (Featuring Bryan Ferry). I have no doubt that you will enjoy it very much. I couldn't find the video on YouTube (only audio) as for some reason it's not available there. Some members might even recognize Bryan Ferry from the band Roxy Music.

Noticed this was posted by a Russian guy on YouTube (apparently Russians have some great taste) Beautiful song with moving lyrics.:
