Electric Bass Plugin Help

    Sorry man :rofl: i didn't wanted to spoil your question, i think i was too drunk in the morning or something (though i'm not drinking ofthen), but now that i've checked it better, i can't belive that i made such a aweful mistake which i didn't even noticed. :rofl: :dunno:

    So you asked for a processing plugin for a nylon guitar (which is a acoustic type of guitar). Well, for this type of guitar you don't really need to go into amps or something like you would need for electric guitar, unless you want to process that nylon guitar in a creative way. If you want to improve only it's quality, then you can use a channel strip or individual plugins for basic processing like eq, compression, a subtle saturation, etc, but if you're not into advanced steps of mixing tasks, then you can try all-in-one plugin like Izotope Alloy or Ezmix, which basically does exactly all the processing for you for that particular track.

    The both plugs are based on ready-to-go presets which you can test on your tracks so you can see which one suits best that track (if you don't really want to mess too much with advanced mixing tasks). Alloy is more tweakable, being able to change which parameter you'd like, while Ezmix is less tweakable but contains reverb and delay, while Alloy doesn't. The bad part on Ezmix is that you can only change the amount of overall effects, like "mix" knobs or something like that, while in Alloy you can tweak every function of that plugin, like compression parameters, eq, saturation mode/amount, transient designer, etc.

    Whoops! Now, I understand! Sorry about that! Your acoustic actually isn't going to need very much (they're traditionally not recorded through amps or anything). If you want to give it a little more "realistic room sound", try an IR reverb like Altiverb and pull up a live room or recording studio impulse. That will make it sound like you recorded it with mics, like a real acoustic would be recorded, without making it sound artificial. As for other processing, most EQ plugs usually have an acoustic guitar preset you can use as a starting point. Like I said, though, there's usually not a lot of extra processing needed for acoustic guitars.

    I use EZDrummer and Superior Drummer. So far, I haven't found one single drum kit out of Superior or EZDrummer that covered all the sounds I've wanted in a mix ... but chances are high, you probably won't, either. Get Superior Drummer and load up on EZDrummer Expansion Kits (and/or Superior Drummer Expansion kits, if you have the room) and set up a custom kit of your own. Superior Drummer lets you build your own kit from all the drum sounds you have available, so you can pick and choose the snares, kicks and hats that sound closest to what you're going for. There's also BFD, Steven Slate Drums (either as its own VI or the older version as a Kontakt library) or Addictive Drums (and a lot of others). Any way you choose, you're still probably going to end up taking various elements from a bunch of different drum kits, depending on how picky you are.

    If what you're asking is what plug you need to get that sound, it's a compressor plug. I personally like PSP's Mixpressor 2, which gives you a nice sound that cuts through a mix with a minimum of fuss. Before you write off EZDrummer or even Kontakt Studio Drums, try placing a compressor plug after the VI and see if that's closer to what you're trying to do. A compressor will usually also add some EQ flavoring, but you may also want to try adding a little EQ to the individual drums if you still don't hear exactly what you think they should sound like.

    Hey, RELAX. Sorry, I'm not an admin like Catalyst but I felt the urge to chime in here upon seeing this. It's totally unfair to get all worked up and angry just because you didn't explain yourself correctly, obviously due to your lack of English, but ultimately down to the fact of how you're asking the questions. You kept saying "I want a plugin" without adding the word "EFFECTS". There's a big difference. By saying "I want a plugin for acoustic nylon" it actually comes across as asking for an instrument that makes that sound, not a processing effect. So don't get angry when you ask a question the wrong way and nobody can understand you, it's not their fault, it's yours. Ok? Good. Now I hope you find what you're looking for after being nice and asking the right questions.

    I have tested the amplitube, but the same goes attenuating the sound, and does not remain a sound of linea straight continuously, but it goes going down the volume

    Ilya Efimov Classic Bass (what I use) actually has an amp option, which means (I think) it takes the direct bass sound and blends in an "amped" sound. It's an easy way to get an amped bass sound with the option to turn it off. I imagine the Ilya Efimov Modern Bass works the same way. I personally don't like Kontakt's built in amp option, so I usually render the DI bass sound to a mono audio track (bass and guitars should always be rendered mono!), clone that track and run the second track through IK's Ampex plug (or, better, I run it through the Ampex presets on Amplitude 3). Now, I have a DI bass sound and an amped bass sound, which, like a lot of people, I blend together. Unfortunately, that by itself is going to sound a little weird, since they're in phase with each other. You'll need to invert the phase on either the DI track or the "amp" track, or use what I use for this job: MAutoAlign. After you get the bass tracks working together, you can choose to either slap a compressor plug on the DI track, or bus both tracks to a mono auxiliary track with a compressor plug on it. That should be enough to rough out the spikes in volume and keep it sounding more consistent.

    Also, before you even go to record the bass VI, check your MIDI track. You can easily steady out the sound here by selecting all your notes (or just the parts you want to sound consistent!) and make sure your "on" velocities are within five or so ticks within each other. Most DAWs have the ability to change continuous data, s you should be able to select a group of notes, open your "Change Continuous Data" window and set it to an average velocity. Also, make sure you have the ability to randomize it by about 1 or 2 percent -- there will be enough difference between the notes that the playing doesn't sound completely mechanical, but consistent enough that you don't have huge peaks and valleys in the sound.

    I have cool mixer presets that i made myself in Cubase and Fl Studio, i'm thinking of selling (maybe) some of them in this summer but i can share a few of them with you. I made presets for acoustic, electric guitars, drums, pianos etc.
