omg, I was young when they were talking about this Q It must be out of this world, with so many years of development...

 

For a while there it seemed that developers were only interested in fun, quirky plugins. Now it seems that they're rethinking the fundamental plugins which is great. I'd prefer a fantastic EQ over the next novelty SoundToys plugin any day lol.

I hear about AirEQ, that it's COMING SOON....It has been coming more since 2012 (if not later)....

Yes, Fabrice is the french guy who develop audio algorithms for Slate.
Looks very good, hope it's not only hype like many Slate products.
Don't expect any user friendly copy protection. (iLok2 most likely).

All that "water, fire, earth" carachters, it's just fancy way of calling the variety of Q/slopes the plugin provides. Purely marketing IMO. Also, the motorized controller is kinda cool, at least if you can use it with any other plugin at your please. That would be a cool midi controller.

Fabriel just got Slate's marketing fever. Talking so much on a question like "how much it will cost" before giving the real answer, that clearly proves it.

It's just another EQ. Let's see how it performs agains Fabfilter 2 and DMG Equilibrium. I think it's all hype.

Plus, I don't think regular EQs like these are not so important. Maybe precise but technically, boring. I only use EQs like these to clean up a sample AND then I create the desired sound with an SSL or Neve Type 4 or 5 Band EQ where I don't even see what it's doing but where I hear what it's doing.

Or do you not have like at least 10 Parametric EQs like this in your arsenal already of which you use like 3 at most? ;)

It was announced 1-2 weeks earlier that it will be released on August 28, and so it happened.

 

Yea... and i saw that Fabriel announced that he's hiring programmers. I guess he's running out of time for his Eiosis projects, spending most of his time on the Slate company... I don't know..

 

Could very well be, I guess Slate doesn't let him work on his own projects.

For what I understand he's more into developing algorithms, studying physical models and co,
not into the final coding, but I may be dead wrong.
Maybe he's just hiring some poor coders to port it to AAX and fight with the SDK (dunno AAX, but RTAS was a pita to code afaik)
