Does anyone know how to get this 'flute' sound?

I have no idea how to go about it, I know that Blinders use Serum for this type of sounds

Try to throw in a bansuri sample in Serum or any other wavetable synth. That should get you in the ballpark.

 

I put a random bansuri sample into the Serum, gentle modulation on the wavetable position and something starts to sound like flute.
any tips to 'finalize' this sound? some filters? I played with distortion but it usually ended that the sound of the flute began to sound like a guitar :/ and began to lose the natural color of the flute

 

Layering, filtering, EQ, delay, reverb, etc. The usual stuff.

 

Also try a touch of Ocarina rather than flute; e,g. Ventus Ocarina, or Embertone Ocarina. They'll give you more of a whistle tone.
