Salt (sodium chloride) is indeed poisonous at high concentrations but to label it as "harmful" seems a bit disingenuous seeing as it is fundamentally necessary for us to live at all. Same with water. Same with oxygen. Sugar. Carbs. Same with most things. Things aren't healthy or harmful per se. Context and amounts are everything.

"Less or more" is a false alternative.

We have to recieve from food as much as we need. No more no less.

If you eat more than you need you get problems.

But if you eat less than you need you get problems too.

I ate less, it harmed my health. I know it by my personal experience.

P.S. There is nothing wrong with fasting if you practice it from time to time. Once in two weeks.Or, better, once a month.

I see a lot of people are lost today. They rely on Internet and influencers to tell them how to live their life! How to behave, and what to eat! So now we've come to the stage that they just can't seem to figure out for themselves how to eat healthy without some influencer telling them what to eat?

Maybe it is time for the human race to die and let other life that does know how to survive flourish?

Considerable research into the benefits of different BMI levels and their influence on longevity has been done.
And the result seems to be that you'll live longer if your BMI is a little higher as you get older.
    So a few pounds/kilos extra is a GOOD thing when you're 60+.
It gives you more resilience to withstand health crises and ill health generally, unless you have diabetes or high cholesterol.

So if your ideal BMI at age 30 was, say, 24, then it's better to go up to maybe BMI 26 when you get older.
But at least as important is - what you eat. Eat sensibly, reasonably, fairly balanced.

(I don't stick with the BMI principle myself. My BMI is 21 and I'm 67yo. But then again, I'm still athletic, train a lot. It's a lttle different then)
