I think compression is one of the hardest things to master in music production. while working with some plugins i came across this trick on how to set up compression the easy way when you use this a few times you get used to the sound and can improve your compression skills:

How to save youtube vids now that 3rd party downloading is disabled?
i used to have a plugin that gave me a simple download button next to all the buttons under a youtube video, but it stopped working and now gives a notice to sign a petition for google to allow 3rd party downloading again. weird shit man, censorship all around and i keep losing ground. dannggg!

anyone knows a way around?

I don't know which plugin you are referring too, but I always used the downloadhelper addon in firefox mozilla. It stopped working too, but... There's already a working beta version:
