    Just looking for recommendations for sutable apps for ripping DVD's to PC.

    Ideal = bit copy.

    I know DVD Fab and DVDShrink (old).

    There's multiple variations of dvd copy apps!
    Welcome opinions of most easy to use with most accurate?

    Thanks.

    If you don't mind the size (accurate...):
    http://makemkv.com/

    You can always re-convert it later.

    I forgot to mention my needs are to rip copies for keeping on my NAS, either in VOB/BUP format or ISO, not to burn to blank DVD media.

    Besides DVDFab, HandBrake is also a good choice, why not have a try?

    Handbrake if you're putting them on a hard drive on PC. I use AppGeeker DVD Ripper to rip DVDs for tablet as it appears a bit more stable.

    i prefer VHS rip, for the analog warmth

    dvd shrink 3.2 is enough if you just want to keep the iso (or the folders).

    tip : the multiple vob can be put in mkv toolnix to automatically make a uncompressed mkv
    i mean, locate the main movie, put the first vob of the serie in toolnix, and it will automatically add the others, then create the mkv.

    and sometimes, for an iso i've downloaded legally (humm) i use the dvd shrink option to not cut vobs in 1gig chunks so i can get the main video in one big vob (that i encapsulate in mkv later)

    You ghoul. ;)

    Eight years later, there's hardly anyone left who backs up physical media. Except me, of course. :yes:
    And even in 2022, I would still recommend DVDFab: The program leaves nothing to be desired. No matter if you want to backup your DVD 1:1 or if you want to make a MKV file out of a Blu-ray.
