sorry to say that, bro but i didn't care less about the country, the programmer is from. And if they announce to focus on cpu improvements? Whatever. They promise it always and everywhere but nothing happens. Spire is a toy in my eyes. But i have a deal for you: Bring me the quantum computer and i will love Spire. Spire sounds very good but gobbles cpu. You need facts ? That IS Fact, your highness *yes*

So does Ace, so does Diva, so does Lush, what's your point? It sounds good and they will optimize it in the future. So far they have added good value for their customers and I have no reason to believe that they're lying. And gobbles CPU is not exactly scientific evidence. :bleh:

The point is, that no professional uses it. Not one that i know. Everyone says: Diva ist the kick ass synth. But they do not use it. Well i am on EDM and i do not know one pro, that uses Diva, Spire, LuSH, ACE (Ace? wtf) They use exactly 3 synths: Sylenth1, Nexus 2 and Massive. Thats it. I think, they know what they do.

..and most of them are on a mac :bleh:

As i said.....they know very well what to do to suceed :bleh:

    ...your highness

That's quite sad that those are the only synths they use and honestly who the fuck cares what "pros" use? Most of the "pro" music sucks balls. I know of plenty of amazing artists that use those synths and an assortment of others. Just because you don't know any that doesn't mean anything. *no*

People throw out all your synths: all you need is Sylenth, Nexus and Massive. [IMG]

Yeah and everyone uses Macs that's why their market share as well as their product are complete bullshit.
I've put up benchmarks before: almost all DAWs work better on PC and not just by a little. Facts speak louder than words.

ok, my friend i have all software synths available, cracked or not. I am clearly on EDM (big room house, electro, trance). I am 10 hours a day on that shit, 7 days a week, ever. Believe me. The way to go is sylenth1, nexus 2 (phalanx is a great shot too) and massive. No Spire, no LuSH 101, no U-He stuff and, above all, no bluescreens, your highness

PLENTY of pros use Arturia snyths, Diva, FM8, the Korg collection, Novation V-Station, Omnisphere, Reaktor, Stylus RMX, Zebra (ever heard of Hans Zimmer :wow: ), etc. I'm not even going to finish this conversation because it's quite simply ridiculous.

Blue screens? What decade are you living in bro? :wow:

Windows 8...5 months constant 24 hour usage...not only no blue screens but not 1 app crash. :wow:

Just Because the wanna spend more money for their equipment ? Man, check out a mac and you will never turn back. No one turns back.

Yea Catalyst, Windows is great for music making as well. Who is complaining about that, means they never knew how to handle a Windows O.S. Let's make this clear, Mac or PC, both are great. Some loves Mac, others loves PC, but 1 thing is for sure, they all are capable of making great music, because "making-music" process is not absolutely dependend on what kind of machine you're using.

Lowpass, you're very wrong my friend, you're actually easily brainwhashed by the marketing image or "what seems cool" image. If you want to get a thing, it should be weared by a pro to convience you that is worth buying? When you want to purchase a tool, you go on youtube or whatever and search pros working in their studio or watching them performing live and commenting below "does anyone know what type of tool r they using?" Then a wise enough guy responds to your comment and you take that answer to the store and buy exactly what you saw in that video, right? Then a few months later you start to say to everybody: "look guys, if you don't use the same tools as mine it means that you're not a pro, because i have exactly what the pros are using"
b**** please  (don't get me wrong though...)

It can be even a Toshiba if that artist really have some feelings for his laptop. But anyway, if his music rocks, audience don't give a shit, only us, the other producers would be laughing off him, but not the audience. :bleh:

Can I ask you a question: is the only way you define yourself by trying to imitate what other people do? I'm not even trying to be insulting but every other word out of your mouth is what the pros use, what the pros do. [IMG] What entails a pro? Do you have to have money, equipment, sell a lot of albums to a bunch of braindead retards? What exactly? Good luck in your quest to sound just like everyone else.

I'm a programmer and system administrator so I've spent my whole life using different OSes as a developer. Macs suck, they're for people that don't want to be bothered with using their computer. Overpriced shit that supports a company that is the epitome of the evil corporation. And very few big businesses use them, that should tell you something. Macs used to be better for audio production and then Microsoft trampled that OS and will continue to do so with Windows 9. Of course people make great music on Macs as well because the computer is incidental. However still can't even begin to understand why you're trying to sell me a crapple product, wasn't aware I was in the market.

Tests run with Windows 7 vs. OSX

Psy'aviah making better music than pretty much all cliche and derivative "pros" of a passé genre and they use Arturia synths (ARP 2600, Mini-V, etc.) also FM8, Korg, Reaktor, etc. on a Windows system and FL Studio so we can also put an end to that's not a real DAW convos while we're at it:

PS I don't know why you keep calling me your highness, I'm not the one coming out with a pompous misinformed argument or stating that this is what the pros use and that I have so much experience and therefore know better now am I? *no*

Actually you'd be surprised about Spire's presets and how updated and accurate they are to the actual EDM music genres. As XSZE said, producers these days are presets addicted junkies, and Spire's factory presets are the most today-EDM accurate presets for a fresh released synthesizer IMO. I don't say its that new, but compared to Sylenth1, Nexus or Massive, it is, and you get with it the EDM sounds right in the box.

Damn right! I'm sure that Spire will be the new rave across all the producers's choice soon, because has already began. When i tested Spire first time stepping through presets i was like "WTF, the developers of this baby hired Vandalism and Freshly to make it's factory libs? What the hack... " , everything sounded awesome straight out the box.

It's not even that...it's why would you need someone to tell you what sounds good in the first place? It's your music, it's your vision so if you think that Lush sounds great in your music why do you need someone's approval? If I had only Massive, Nexus and Sylenth I would feel shitty especially in light of the fact that 2 of those synths are extremely limited. We have to find a way to get away from this hive mentality, it's horrifying. [IMG]

And one more thing: how are Omnisphere and Trillian NOT on this list?

A good artist who knows how to use write melodies and knowledge of music theory and structure a track can create good music with any tools that people will like. Now about Dune 2... Which sounds fantastic, only wish can save presets in demo and can automate?

What the heck dude. That should be a perfect reason NOT to use only those 3 synths.
I mean, if ppl like Kraftwerk, Numan, Depeche had thought like that nobody would have started to use any synths or drum machines at all, cause that's not what "the pro's" were using back in the day when the pioneers of the whole EDM scene started out.
Their vision was to make sth different and create new sounds. The last thing they wanted was to be a copy of a copy.

"My favorite keyboard was a DX-100. To program a Yamaha keyboard is a technical mystery so there was a lot of studying, reading the manuals.
Cause if you just used the presets you were the biggest fucking joke in the world. They're only meant as a starting point, and if you're gonna make music, make your own music. Don't make somebody else's music.

Like the gui, clean, simple (compared e.g. to Lush 101 - now that is usuable).

But get rid of the keyboard please.
