look I am all for this project and get it time is money and all that jazz but seems to me theyre dragging feet now and it seems pretty obvious why. I mean a free emulation that has lots of promises yet to be met, many little unresolved issues and a not exactly great workflow which you have to jump through hoops to pay 20 eur/pound for the privilege to "test" their bootleg copy plugin. um. ok.

Who is the crybaby?

The delays in seeing a final with this are common and well-known and easy to discover by anyone who is really interested.
There is no big secret being hidden from anyone.

Yeh i use the navtive apple silicon version. I think people who claim it just use a few % CPU think that the CPU meter of the DAW shows the real usage which is not the case with default latency block setting.

 

i checked my cpu usage in the process manager against reaper, it's accurate i'm only getting a couple of percent CPU usage with OsTIrus open. sorry it sucks for mac m1's i guess, its fine over here.

I was surprised when I saw the "pending deletion" status.
While it is technically true that opp insulted the forum / members, I didn't think it was an 'aggravated assault' kind of thing and thought it more of a misdemeanor. That makes me wonder if there were other issues.

But on the main topic, I will also be very happy if / when there is a fully functional release.

 

Alright for any idiot who agrees with this guy, let me give you the rundown of WHY this is a limited test (donators who've tested it already know):

1. This emulator is VERY unstable. There are a lot of bugs (parameters being linked, presets not loading properly, strange crashes, etc)
2. To filter out duplicate bug reports, irrelevant comments, and obtained more focused feedback, there's no better way to do this than to limit the pool of testers. Random lotto selection wouldn't be effective, privately reaching out to people would segment feedback too much and there might even be not enough people to test over a wide range of hardware this way. Donators show who cares about the project enough to invest not only money, but their time into getting a deep dive into testing and reporting bugs.
3. The donation money is being used towards MORE HARDWARE for them to create emulations for. In no way is this a bad thing, I'm sure everyone wants more to come.

I'm not even sure why so many people are complaining over this. You aren't paying for the emulator, you're donating and receiving an early access role. Everybody in the public will eventually be able to access the emulators in a free and open source manner. All I'm hearing are crybabies who see that money was involved and pointing fingers, when in reality this is just the irrationally jealous acting high and mighty.

ok nice to hear that it works for you. Luckily I do not depend on it and Autosampling in Logic works just fine if I find a sound I like. Then I just can use it with 1% CPU usage in Logic s sampler or import the multisample in Avenger for further processing

I will assume that you mean: ...for reproducing anything the Virus emulator can produce.

Well, many people dispute that, and I find it hard to believe that someone who makes a statement like you did is not aware of the disagreements on this topic.
Perhaps you mean that Viper is sufficient for YOU to achieve what YOU want?

P.S. I own Viper and like it better that the emulator for now, but that is simply due to the interface and I make no judgment on potential for sound creation.

Same. But less noise, wire hums etc.
