here's the thing where i live there's electricity shortages so getting an apollo would be pretty pointless since electricity might go up and boom it's burned while the scarlet 4th gen seems to handle electricity shortages at least so does my scarlet solo 3rd gen my questions are does the scarlet 2i2 4th gen have lower latency than the 3rd gen? i'm looking for a good interface in the 200 dollar to 500 dollar range with the lowest latency possible i know 0 latency isn't achiavable today i already have 200 dollars enough to buy the scarlet 4th gen but i'm not sure if i should buy it or not it looks good and sounds good for 205 dollars i was thinking about saving for an antelope zen go but it seems it needs ethernet connection to power up and use the mixer which is a no go for me ( correct me if i'm wrong ) i don't know what to do guys any help and suggestions would be aprecciated

USB vise, nothing except RME will offer significantly lower latency over what you already got. Price range vise, if by any chance you can have thunderbolt interface, Presonus Quantum 2626, that's about it really.

why? i want a lower latency if possible i dont use the focusrite asio4all i use asio4all i need the cables to connect it to my pc i guess using the focusrite asio4all driver would give me a lower latency than using asio4all still i want the lowest latency i can get for 200-500 dollars

1 - If you have electricity shortages and power cuts, you need to buy and connect a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)!, it would be silly to make gear decisions based on which one seems to handle power cuts best...

2 - no, you dont want Asio4all, you want the custom driver for you audio interface, latest version, same with firmware.

3 - You want the lowest possible latency, so decrease the buffer size! (but you betetr have a good enough CPU to handle it, and also any plugins you use add latency etc etc)

i will consider buying an uninterruptible power supply since i really need it i i will buy the cables to connect my focusrite to the pc and i also print my plugins to audio so i dont use cpu in fl studio 21 so that's sorted i will go with the scarlet since it has lower latency than the audient and other offerings like the ua volt in the 200 dollar price range

Skip the Focusrite. The unit specs may be ok, but their software is usually the source of any problems.

And you should get a better power supply, like a UPS.

Latency is only a true concern if you are recording live instruments and vocals. You are not going to notice a 1-2 millisecond difference with something that isn't close to zero in the first place.

focusrite make really good interfaces, they test among the best there is to buy today, ive had a few of the older models.

Yeah, their drivers are not known as the best though.

i prefer MOTU, you should check them out they have solid drivers, amazing clean preamps, top class engineering

the motu m2 seems really good it clocks in at 2.5 ms at the lowest latency avaliable but i might go with the focusrite becouse of brand trust durability and becouse i dont like lcd's in my interfaces yeah i know i have many pet peeves but you know i like buttons more than lcds

We need to find a cure for the disease of users who recommend RME in any post about entry level audio interfaces

For me the best entry level audio interfaces are Audient ones. iD14mkii and iD22mkii or even mki's. They have a really good driver and low latency. Focusrite interfaces are pretty good, too, but the audio latency is a bit higher and the audio quality is a bit lower. I would only choose it if I found it more convenient for some reason.

Regarding your electricity problems, you should really consider buying either a UPS or power conditioner like Furman PL-8C. I bought a Furman like a decade ago and I don't even know it's there. :) It really helps with power stability, hum, power interferences of all kind, except power outage (that's what UPS is better for). And it's not expensive. Especially if you consider it protects all your audio equipment from power surges and prolongs their life by supplying them with clear and stable electricity.

Because there's no decrease in latency in the 4th gen and 4ms of latency is, for all practical purposes, unnoticeable so I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm usually at 6ms and there's no flanging. And I'm not sure if anything can go lower anyway, without going to Thunderbolt. Not for 2 bills. I mean... if you know you can't get 0, and you're at 4, how much time and money are you willing to spend to shave off, what, 3 ms of latency??? 2? 1?
    :)

https://gearspace.com/board/music-c...erface-low-latency-performance-data-base.html Have a look here and see if there's something more that you can use to make your decision. I'd recommend saving for an used RME Babyface, even first gen, you should find something in the 500 dollars range. I own a Fireface 800 since 2006, never a single fault, their drivers are the absolute best. Period. Great interfaces. If not, I'd just stay with what you have.
