simple .

-generate 2 audio tracks
-put any noise generator on both tracks (insertslot 1 in chain)

for example this ..it´s a free vst

-both generate the same signal..
-on one track (insertslot 2)put ProQ on the other let this slot empty

-as 3rd insert put any spectrum analyzer plug-in. on both tracks

now fire up the audio signal and compare in spectrum analyser...

Hint : mute master out for not get mad while comparing

after tuning ProQ until it fits the spectrum safe it as preset.

If you know how to set up side-chain routing you are good to go. If not, Google setting up side-chain in cubase 5.

@ lyric8 .. when anything is still unclear i will post you tutorial with screenshots. need round about 3hours to get home untill now. pls reply if you need further explanation.

If you looked at the video in which link I listed, all that stupid routing that you're talking about is done in Pro Tools!

 

Dude... we are talking about inserts but anyhow thanks for this great contribution the community will draw on it for decades...

ok lyric8 here we go.. , (sorry for my bad english i am no native)

first of all you need

to make it simple i generated a pink noise audio file .. pls download it from

Now start Cubase and create an empty project.











drag&drop/copy the downloaded noise file to both generated tracks


now press F3 again and "insert" plugins like that



HINT : don´t forget to mute your "main" out for not get mad untill tweaking...

now you should be fine your audio track should look like this



if you now looping the playback of that pink noise you can compare those two audio tracks via analyser...

you will emntion a tiny bit of deviation in it.



now you can tweak ProQ2 untill it fit´s the spectum of the track without ProQ, save the preset and you should be good...

my 2 cents... stop fixing it. it´s all good. my english is way to bad to explain it technically whise but trust me.. i am working with audio for round about 19 years now(old fart inc. ^^).. this looks more radical than it is in actual fact.. proQ is the most transparent plugin eq i ever worked with. my top 3 (transparent &vst/plugin whise) goes 1. FabQ 2.EQuality 3.Waves API 550A ... but here are many opinions out there i guess..
