I guess learning music theory is no longer required so long as you can make it without actually knowing what music sounds like? I couldn't walk until I learned stuff about balance and coordination. Guess how I got to drive my car? :guru:

    @black.afrika.zulu.x
I got married 5 yrs ago. After the ceremony i had to go to the mayor's office and and "report" my marriage to a certain department where there was this dude which had a single duty to perform. To write down by hand the names of my wife and me (and our address) on the largest book i have ever seen in real life. Guess what his job is ? Calligraphy. (This might not exist where you are from but believe me it is very real right here)
So to make it perfectly clear the "robots" were here long before you imply. Their good or bad use, relies solely on human initiative. I cannot predict the future of AI but as it is atm, automated procedures by plugs or apps that apply a generic preset (even if it is self adjustable on its parameters) cannot substitute the human touch. Among the mastering jobs i 've been given this year were 3 remasters. These peeps used LANDR and then realized their master wasn't really mastered. Get it yet ? What your fictional -and not so clever to speak the truth- examples describe, is the use of automated procedures during your music creation process. YOUR OWN MUSIC CREATION not the robots'.
And i can tell you this much, from all the peeps who might be afraid of substitution by a robot, the musicians and all the related professions are among the least to fear anything especially the older ones. We 've seen the machine at its birth and know it inside out. Our knowledge is concrete because we had the time to take it step by step as the tech was evolving, and gather substantial info stored in our braincells enough to overwhelm any kind of robot and its presets. You see music perception at its basic functionality is mainly the sum of the various feelings it invokes in the listeners, and never an automated process per se.
Speaking of robots, when Kraftwerk started having success in Europe, some people and press accused them of stripping their music from emotion. I thought of this (when i read about it sometime later) as completely narrow minded. It takes too much emotion to be able to strip your music of emotion, as music at its base comes out of inspiration and complex feelings. Yes, they were (and still are) "emulating" the robots but at the very same time they were human as well. My point being, you always have to understand (or try to at least) the deeper meaning of a lyric or a music passage and look beyond the given facts you hear (or see). A waveform or spectral picture of a song is a static representation of something that "happens" realtime in so many different fields and aspects that (i reckon) robots will have a hard time replicating even in the year 2500.
Btw, you 're over dramatic on this whole Ableton thingie. I can make a whole drumset out of white noise and God knows how many albums with the given sounds and plugs any professional daw offers. Because not only they give you some raw material to ignite your inspiration but also the tools to manipulate it to the degree that they can truly be your own. Skrillex knew 1% of what i know and had 1% of my gear as well, and got himself to Rockstar/Grammy status, all with a laptop,1 broken speaker and a pair of cans (perhaps some "illegal" warez there too? i dunno really heheh). Now if this isn't enough for an answer you better start looking for a different hobby my friend. Get creative bro, screw the robots, they 're just the "help".
Bottom line. While you are complaining, artists like Ed Sheeran make hits with a guitar and simple beatboxing on a couple of stomp box loopers. If the music making process feels tiresome to you it would be only because you lack inspiration. Any other reason is futile complaining about.
    Cheers
PS: I welcome any kind of technical innovation that will help me do my job faster or better. There will always be room for improvement. This does not mean that tech can substitute my knowledge and feel because as a whole, i am unique. And the same goes for all. People who cannot understand what "personal touch and style" is, can never be artists.

Toddlers ̶g̶o̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶s̶c̶h̶o̶o̶l̶ study balance & coordination to learn how to walk? I always assumed it was fairly innate, monkey see/monkey do sort of a thing. Maybe I was a [walking] prodigy :\ (That's the joke, right? I only studied sarcasm 101 -- can write, but can't read/understand it)

1.: Wrong link, digital native, there's not a single sound to hear in this one.
2.: I watched some other vids about this glove it won't help you precisely producing a song in any way.

    Nope, that's wrong.

1.: You don't need superpowers or supersonic hearing. Just a lot of time and some talent.
2.: That's not old thinking but wisdom out of experience.

I'm not a pro but I did some mixing and mastering and I know out of my own experience that I can hear differences and details in frequencies, volumes and dynamics that other people, even if they are musicans with more than 20 years playing their instruments, do not hear (although there's an uncounted number of those who are superior to me). Just because I'm quite practised in this and they are not. On the other hand I can't play any instrument properly because I'm not used to it.

    You would never believe that
    She'd tasted royalty and fame
    If you saw her now
But her sense of taste is such that she'll distinguish with her tongue
The subtleties a spectrograph would miss :D

Talent??? You mean that would be Eminem 2.0 that believes using the f-word a thousand times in one song and pointing a weapon (although in this case it's plastic because the rugrat isn't even allowed to drive) at people is cool? :hahaha:
    That's only immature.

Didn't you complain about others insisting not to listen/read? =>
and I surely don't have them

Why do you think it's time for peronal insults?
Was it because @Von_Steyr called you a dufus?
A dufus is just a dove (Iceandic language). No insult at all. :dunno:

OI! Stop fighting and have a beat battle instead.

    PHLOOPY vs. VON STEYR.

    I'm on @phloopy's side. I'm sure he's got more bangers than @Von_Steyr.

    IT'S ON!

Please don't deride each other. We're from different countries having different tastes, different cultures, different views to every thing. Never let those differences turn us to our enemies. I've fought my way towards changing different tastes and their definition of music by my near 1900 posts but at the end what have I gotten? Nothing except applying generally the title of Foster Style to my works ... :bleh:

Just kidding, do whatever you want. If you needed any tool for killing each other I can provide them.:winker:
