    grabbing this vintage tape recorder after work : should be fun , everything works & only $ 135 ! ;)

    VERY rare 70's era Dokorder Model 9100 1/4" tape player/recorder marketed as "The Mini Studio with professional features. ...features makes it a self contained recording studio for home or professional use.".... Dokorder brochure.
    Specifications include:

    * 6 head / 3 motor configuration;
    * Dual speed (7.5 & 3.75 ips.);

    Dokorder produced this machine with a lot of specialized features not commonly found in tape decks. For the enthusiast wanting some basic studio effects with quality electronic components in an appealing and compact design.
    This machine has been bench tested and the transport controls appear to be full functioning. Excellent fidelity...plays well with no issues in both directions...all knobs and controls work as intended...strong motors/brakes. record function not tested but presumed operational.
    DECK HAS BEEN UNUSED IN DRY STORAGE FOR THE LAST 26 YEARS. A NEW DRIVE BELT INSTALLED and GENERAL CLEAN-UP DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL IN THE LAST YEAR WITH "ZERO HOURS" OF USAGE SINCE THEN. HEADS AND PINCH ROLLER LOOK GOOD!
    Very nice cosmetics with some hard to find features (bi-directional recording, built-in head demagnetizer, on-board special effects & complete bias controls), etc.

    There is a trick to run tape and record it in real time, with latency compensation.
    No need to sample your takes afterward.
    It can help any tape lover ;)

    I don't find the video anymore, but you use Voxengo Latency Delay to compensate for real time monitoring output.
    Record straight AND tape monitoring, mesure latency. And compensate it using plugin in the recording chain.

    You just need to pause tape when you don't record. When your tape is over...put it back on the other side.
    No more time lost recording, rewinding AND capturing.
