does Live 9 allow you to merge midi?

    ie

    make 2 tracks

    track A -some notes
Track B - some additional notes

Merge all into one track of many notes

    on with drums

    Track A - kick snare
    Track B hats

    Merge into one loop

Live 8 doesn't do this (or does it)
    does Live 9

    Cheers

Yeah, just move both clips into a new midi track in the arrangement view, highlight everything and right click and choose "consolidate". I use it a lot, works with audio too, usually I will build a clip in the arrangement view like this, with fills and everything before copying it to a clip.

Oh, I see what you're asking... nevermind

Ok, just figured out you can get a clip open in the midi editor, hit ctrl-a to select everything, copy it, open another clip, select everything, or the time range you want to bring the other stuff into, and paste it in

there is not a function i think, but you can do it like this: you take midi track 1 and track 2 (with no instruments on it) and send the midi output of all tracks to another midi track, that you set to record and then you record the midi to the new track and all notes of the source clips will be in the new clip.

    this or just simple copy/paste.

    Cheers guys

I'm on live 8..live 9 is the same then.

Cut and paste seems the way forward.
    I don't know why I didn't think of that.

You would have thought Ableton would hedge added this feature by now.
