Its funny I was thinking the exact same thing last week when I was considering should I get a brand new Korg Kronos 3

I joined a few forums, asked a few questions, all positive responses, watched many YT videos and decided to pull the trigger.

It came last week and although I have only used it for a few hours it has got me thinking that its just ok, I mean I know it does a lot and there is so much I don’t know about it, but the few sounds I played were nothing special or things I don’t have on my other boards or software plug-ins.

I am probably being a bit unfair here because of my very limited time with the board but there is a part of me thinking did I want this because I have never owned a Kronos? the excitement before buying it has kind of left me now that I have one.

I wont send it back no matter what as it looks nice in the studio and I will spend more time with it but plug-ins these days are so good and a lot cheaper than hardware.

My only grip with plug-ins right now is online activations and not being able to activate your purchase at a later date if the company goes under and takes down the activation servers.

This whole you own nothing is very annoying after paying full price for something. I had 38 movies that I purchased (not rented) on my Playstation 5 only to wake up this week to an email to be told by Sony they are all being removed from their catalog and my device and there is nothing I can do about it, legitimately purchased the FULL movies for this to happen without warning.

BUT... slightly off track my point is with Hardware you still have the hardware even if corps stop updating firmwares or take down activation servers....
